Another year has come and gone! It seems like I
am always motivated at the start of a new year to
reorganize, pass along possessions I don't need or
use any longer and hav e a good cleanup The last
few years I have been try ing to use products that are
less hazardous Here arc a few "recipes" that I use

DRAIN C L E A N E R /O P E N E R Pour table salt
down drain and Rush with boiling water after 10
minutes. Another option is to pour 2 Tablespoons
vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda down drain and
flush with boiling water after 10 minutes.
S C O U R IN G P O W D E R Sprinkle table salt, borax
and baking soda onto a dam p sponge O r scrub area
with a h alf of lemon dipped in borax.
O V EN C L E A N E R Baking soda on grease or if it is
a fresh spill sprinkle table salt on it and wipe off
when dry Another option is to mix 1 quart water
with 2 teaspoons borax and 2 teaspoons liquid soap
Spray on oven and let sit 20 minutes, then wipe off.
1 have found that these methods only work if grime
has not built up If anyone know s a method that
works on grimy ovens please let me know
Commercial oven cleaner is one of the most toxic
products we use and most people just toss the cans in
the trash after they are emptied
A M M O N IA 1 Cup vinegar to 1 gallon water.
B L E A C H . Substitute vinegar, borax or baking soda.

insecticides, antifreeze, paint, strippers & thinners,
