When people talk about p la y in g gam es we
autom atically th in k o f N intendo or Sega, but
th ere are some great gam es out th ere that
you can play w ithout e le c tr o n ic s When 1 get
togeth er with my aunts and u n c le s and
cousin s we play lots of gam es Here are some
o f our favorite ones
M onopoly is a good game for 10 and up It
can take an hour or more for all the property
to be bought so we usually deal out all the
cards and th en trade as the game goes on
Risk is an oth er good game for older kids
and adults The object of the game is to
conq u er the world You use dice to have w ars
with your arm ies This game has lots of
strategy and takes a long time to fin ish It
can be played w ith two to six people
Scrabble is a word game that all ages can
play Be sure you have a dictionary because
th ere can be lots o f a rg u in g about words
Outburst is another game o f words, that is
played w ith teams Little kids and adults can
play togeth er and any num ber can play One
team g iv es the other team a category and
th ey have one m inute to shout out all the
th in g s th ey can th in k of that fit the
category You get one point for ev e ry
answ er that is on the category card This is a
noisy game but is great for a fam ily
Some oth er gam es that all ages can play
togeth er are Oodles, a word game Jenga a
balan cin g and building game, and Clue,
w h ere you try to solve a m ystery
