We are talking about the past and the future as folks often do at the end of the year; according to the calendar now in use on this edge We would note that Osburn’s Grocery celebrated its 20th Anniversary this fall. The store was the original site of the first Cannon Beach" Post Office in 1922 We are particularly fond of Osburn's; they supply us with the paper bags that we use to mail our papers, they employ Dr Karkeys and several other very nice folks; and. dear to the beloved reverend's heart. The Founder was a Washboard PLyer. Will Osburn (pictured above). He played music on the porch in the summer, and though your beloved editor never had the luck to hear him play or jam with him, he had heard of the existence of a class washboardist in Cannon Beach, for years It must be noted that the gentleman shrugged this mortal coil in a manner befitting a class washboardist; in a red convertible in a parade down the main street of town, surrounded by people he loved and who loved him Other than that, we don! know what the headline means either Q ro u c b o M a rx BASEBALL What if there were these rich folks, less than thirty actual people, and they owned all the places in America where music could be played and they had these guys, talented musicians, and rich too, who played for them. But the musicians didn't like the owners' music, so they wouldn't play. And they couldn't play for anyone else, even if other folks liked “their’ music, so nobody in America could listen to the music. Right? Wrong!! Call your Senator! Dammit, Joe DiMaggio hasn't lived to be BO years old to watch Baseball end this way Figure it out, or w ell find someone who will!! Nike, Microsoft, Disney, Pepsi, Sony, do we make ourselves clear?
