season is gearing up - prim aries in August and we re
going to have some Interesting times this gear
I take a short tr ip to Buena Yista in the central
mountains, a place celled the South Park are«, where
the Collegiate Pe«k mountains dominate, mostly

road c o n s trx tio n everyw here, as sure a sign of
summer in Colorado as the Columbine, cougara in our
neighborhood following the young deer, and the
Kentucky Bluegrass lawns turning brown from lack of

D ark, forbidding clouds, d ry lighting, but not
much tra ffic once out of the metro area on this weekday
other than semi trucks I run through rain and sun -
the clouds produce big drops for a half m ile, then give
way to sun for another rm le, then appear again, the big
expansive sky full of them, all the way to the
mountains In the near distance
Mot enough rain for the

this d ry lighting, and our newspapers are fu ll of the

pay equity, and others too numerous to mention
and fra n k ly , when they spend days and days debating a

contains chemicals, now can we - It might frighten
someone (and hurt agrib usin ess)), I can see what they
mean
But, if we re not w illin g to get involved in the
process, we deserve what we get
