Dear Beloved Reverend B illy Lloyd Hults,
Your November issue was a keeper' I
especially enjoyed the front page, "We
Two-' I went immediately and kissed my
lover' i like 'Schools are not the problem,
they are the solution" especially since I
am a teacher, and I think Salem is fu ll of
fools' I liked the part about "the
embarassment it must be causing Jesus’
and I like Peter Lindsey s essay about
women l should do one about men'

The PAC formed in opposition to the
anti-gay in itia tiv e filed in Warrenton by
the <X A The in itia tiv e was contested by
the ACLU on behalf of city resident James
Meggert
Judge Edison ruled the wording of
the in itia tiv e must include the word
"discriminates* and the OCA abandoned th is
effort as a resu lt, saying it would come
beck later with a rewritten in itia tiv e and
start the process anew So far. It has not
done so
Ann,
Yep, you should do one about men' Please'

Dear Upper Left Edge
Glad you are w ith us here on the Oregon
Coast This is an area under heavy assault
- - particularly here in Lincoln City The
chainsaws are s w iftly decimating the last
large tracts of green space here in the city
- - some of the last trees over IOO years
of age
Hardly a day has gone by this summer
without hearing the w ail of chain- saws or
the grow I of dozers
Even now as I w rite these words I can
hear the splinter and crash of trees only
250 yards to the south

Dear Beloved Rev B illy,
The Sahhalie a rticle is wonderful' The
fir s t paragraph is what I've been saying
about Seaside for years, eg "What not to
do w ith a coastal community", glad to see
those words in print Since the powers
that be here seem unstoppably hell-bent on
destroying the place perhaps there is at
least a hope that it w ill become a glaring
lesson in what short- sightedness creates
Perhaps others who can t see past their
noses either, and therefore can t learn the
lessons of what happened to southern CA
(or Hl, FL, NJ, etc . ad nauseum), w ill
fin a lly have the consequences in their
faces I only hope they get the point
before ,t is too late for the rest of the
coast Keep up the good work'
