of truth and love. We may not
“hang by the neck until dead,” but
nevertheless we will surely he sus­
pended unless we learn how to co­
operate. The Freethought Maga­
zine, edited hy H. L. Green, 213
E. Indiana St., Chicago, 111., sets us
all a good example.
Mr. Green might have thought
that a new Freethought journal,
such as the Torch of Reason, com­
ing into the field at this time would
lessen his subscription list and thus
lessen the chances of his success;
but no, he most heartily welcomed
us and without hesitation began to
advertise our paper and the Liberal
University as a move in the right
direction. This has helped us won­
derfully, as many a subscriber to
the Torch can testify, and you may
be sure that, if we can help it, we
will not let it hurt our noble friend,
who has so fully demonstrated the
fact that he is really and truly a
Liberal.
The Freethought Magazine comes
to us this month full of the best of
thoughts of some of the most pro­
gressive men and women of our
time, and the editor has given eight
pages of his valuable publication to
the work of the Liberal University
and its workers, including the
frontispiece, which is the portrait of
our own dear fellow-worker, Pearl
W. Geer. We are very anxious for
every Freethinker in the world to
read the Freethought Magazine, for
we know that to read it means to
become interested in Progressive,
