Dr. Ludwig Mach has successful­ ly alloyed aluminum with magnes­ ium and thereby obtained a com­ pound which can he worked like brass, and which is lighter still than aluminum, says the Iron Age. A 10 per cent magnesium alloy re­ sembles zinc, a 15 per eent alloy is like brass, and a 25 per cent like compound bronze. The alloy is a l­ most as white as silver and very hard. It is less expensive than brass.
