That is the question which will engage the attention of the W estchester county g rand ju ry .next M onday. Mrs. W inifred H orton, an aged and pious resident of Sing Sing, says th a t such conduct is unlaw ful, and m akes a specific accusation against her former neighbor, A n­ drew Eek. She charges th a t on S unday, Septem ber 18, she was w alking in her garden when she saw farm er Eck come out of his house, go to his orchard and then and there pick several ripe apples from an overhanging limb. Mrs. H orton knew th a t farm er Eck was doing wrong, so she went to the office of Justice S tu art Ba­ ker iii Sing Sing and inform ed him of the culpable act. Justice Baker, also esteemed for his piety, care­ fully considered the m erits of the case and concluded to sustain the charge. He issued a w arran t for the a r ­ rest of farm er Eck, and when i.w a s C oolidge’s B rick, O pposite B an k , served the old gentlem an nearly collapsed. He appeared with the S IL V E R T O N , O R E G O Y constable before the justice, who, puzzled as to w hat sentence to im ­ pose, released the prisoner on $20 bail.
