They are made of gut ta percha, porcelain, or metal, as the ease m ay be. At the root of the false tooth holes are made. Holes are also made upw ard into the jaw. The tooth is then placed in the cavity. In a short tim e a soft granulated growl h finds its wav from the p atien t’s jaw into the holes in the tooth. This growth g radually hardens and holds the tooth in po sition. Dr.Zamesky has tried them on dogs and men with success. The phonograph is used for the purpose of teaching languages. Already a com plete course in French has been transferred to cylinders by a m em ber of the Acad emie Française, and thesecylinders will presently be obtainable by students who prefer to perfect them selves both in g ram m ar and pro nunciation by the aid of a phono graph.
