A very ol«l woman had a very old cheese,
T he age of th is cheese still rem ains a
great riddle;
In sum m er twould thaw , in 'Aintt r
’tw ould freeze;
But a grub reincarnate once appeared
in its m iddle.
W hen th at cheese froze again, th is grub
was no m o re ;
H is soul, now decarnate, floated off in
th e c h e e se ;
B u t th is theosophic g ru b had left m ill

So when th is cheese thaw ed, m any
grubs cam e from these.
T hus, year after year, grubs w ent and
grubs c a m e ;
Till trad itio n e ’en failed to explain
th e ir b e g in n in g ;
B ut a scientific grub, rein carn ate, now
cam e,
Born again in th is cheese, to atone for
old sinning.
