Umpires needed
Be part of something that is vital for the ability of high
school sports to happen and become an official. Oregon
spring sports will be commencing April 13 and The Mid-
Columbia Umpires Association is continuing to look for new
and experienced umpires for the 2021 softball and baseball
season. Women are highly encouraged to join. Training will
be provided for new members. Make extra money, make
new friends, and make a difference in providing this very
important need for high school sports. For more information,

Columbia Area Transit announces
spring route changes
Columbia Area Transit (CAT) is ready for spring with
requirement changes, as well as expanding local services, as
follows:
■ March 31 — The Gorge-to-Mountain Express service will
stop operations for the season.
■ April 3 — The Upper Valley service will increase service
from four to seven trips a day Monday through Friday starting
April 1. The Cascade Locks shuttle will provide a deviated
fixed-route service in Cascade Locks five times a day, pro-
viding new access for residents within Cascade Locks and
surrounding areas. These services will be expanded further to

Pool commissioner needed

making the best decisions for the future White Salmon Valley
Pool?
The Board of White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park
District has an opening for Commissioner No. 4.
Letters of interest will be accepted through April 22, with
the goal of approving an appointment at the Park District’s
May regular meeting.
A candidate must reside within the White Salmon Valley
Pool MPD area (the Klickitat County portion of the White
Salmon Valley School District).
The term will expire in 2023, but the commissioner would
need to file for reelection in 2021.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A strong commitment to providing a pool for the White
Salmon Valley area
• Open-minded decision making
• A positive, “can-do” attitude
• Time and commitment to contribute
