D ear P arents and Fam ilies o f B utte Falls C harter School S tudents,
As we finish up this remarkable year I want to th an k you fo r partnering w ith us in th e
education o f your student. We have accomplished many things together this year. We are
already planning for the coming school year as we look toward updating our elem entary
m athem atics curriculum and additional resources fo r secondary science. We will also be
w elcom ing several n ew experienced teachers and expanding of our m iddle school and high
school sports program s in collaboration with the Crater Lake Charter Academy.
This past weekend we celebrated th e graduation o f 14 B utte Falls seniors. We are very proud
of the accomplishments of these students over the past 13 years of school and look fo rw ard to
th e successes th at lie ahead for them and our current students.
H ere are several additional item s o f interest th at relate to this sum m er: EDCBA

We will be im proving th e flooring in two of our elementary campus classrooms this
summer as we clean both campuses from top to bottom. We are also adding a digital
security system to our elementary campus to help us monitor our campus both during
school hours and after hours. The high school currently has such a system. We will also
be upgrading th e com puters in our elementary campus computer lab. U pgrades to our
fo u r school buses w ill include m ulti-digital cam era safety system s.
2. W e will not be offering our sum m er m eals program this sum m er. Instead we will do a
deep cleaning and upgrade o f som e eq u ipm en t in our kitchen this summer so we can
be ready for the coming school year. We hope to bring the summer meals program back
for the summer of 2018.
3. We had anticipated that significant construction work would be occurring to our high
school campus this summer. The district received a grant to strengthen the structure of
our academic and gymnasium buildings. Due to a tight construction market, we will be
delaying th at seism ic construction w o rk for a year (summer of 2018).
