D ear Parents, G uardians, and Patrons of B utte Falls.
The Butte Falls School D istrict w as notified by the O regon D epartm ent of Education, in M arch, that w e w ould be
receiving reduced paym ents in A pril, M ay and June due to declining enrollm ent in 2010-2011. W e had been estim ating a
healthy ending fund balance up to that point. This new s used all the positive cash plus put the district about $40,000 in
the red for this school year.
To m ake it through this school year the district w ill need to C U T T H E SC H O O L D A Y S O F M A Y 29, 30 A N D 31.
These days are the Tuesday, W ednesday, and Thursday after the M em orial D ay holiday, so students w ill be out that
entire w eek.
W e very m uch regret the necessity of this action and encourage fam ilies to read w ith their students during this tim e.
