I hope you all have a w onderful holiday. T he past year has been very productive. W e ’ ve
finished the C om m unity H all; m oved the police departm ent out o f C ity H all to their ow n
facility; established a cem etery office to oversee taking care of the grounds o f our passed
friends and loved ones; purchased the Laundrom at and the funds that aren ’ t used for
operation go to the police and fire departm ents. T he sale o f bulk w ater is constant and
revenues from the sales are being directed tow ard the construction o f our new building for
future w ater bottling.
A s you m ay have heard or seen, the old B ank B uilding has new ow ners. T hey are in the
process of establishing a sm all overnight R V parking area behind the building.
T he dum psters that are provided at the R ecycle C enter for m etal and trash have been quite
successful. T hey are funded through donations and city revenue. W e are going into our 3 rd
year. W e used to be open 7 days a w eek, but have reduced that to 3 because of cost (our
costs have risen from $3,000 to $7,000). D ue to the higher costs, I am asking everyone w ho
lives w ithin the fire protection area to donate a m inim um o f $20 annually (July-A ugust). T his
donation, coupled w ith city sources and corporate donations (F orest S ervice, B LM , other
tim ber com panies) w ill help us continue to provide the 2 dum psters at the R ecycle C enter,
w hich in turn helps keep our com m unity clean and w ill save you a trip to W hite C ity.
In M ay, you w ill be voting on how the revenue from the sale of bottled w ater w ill be
distributed. T here w ill be fliers m ailed out in January about the proposal for com m ents.
T he sew er upgrade is scheduled to be finished by late 2008 or early 2009.
H ave a prosperous and safe N ew Y ear.
Y our M ayor, R on O rm ond HGFEDCBA
