Culminating a career spanning 45 years with the Rogue River National Forest, Bill Irwin
announced his retirem ent Septem ber 30, 2003. Bill worked his entire career on the Butte
Falls Ranger District in the planning, tim ber and silviculture departm ents, and his efforts
are clearly evident as you drive through the surrounding Forest Service land and enjoy
the beautiful landscapes. Bill left a rem arkable legacy on the Butte Falls Ranger District
because of his extensive knowledge of silviculture, and his love for the land.
