Southern Oregon Sanitation has purchased a new
garbage truck and would like to offer curb side
recycling service, hopefully starting in July or
August. When this takes effect, the service day
will change from the current Monday to Friday. If
you want the blue curb side recycle box, you will
need to sign up for the service. The new service
rate will be $13.05 for a 35 gallon can and $22.00
for a 65 gallon can. The cost of the curb side
recycling service is included in the new rate. The
Town Council supports this new service and will
pick a day when you can sign up for it and receive
your blue recycle box. More details will be in the
next month ’s newsletter.
Wa ter Crisis Fixed
The Town Council for the Town of Butte
Falls wants to assure the citizens that
the problem regarding last month ’s
water crisis has been corrected and we
have taken steps to see that it does not
happen again. The council would like to
give special recognition to all of the
people that gave their time during the
crisis. The Town Council and Fire
Department also want to thank Robert
Lyon, Shelly Conopa and Ron Hailicka
for keeping their water tankers on hand
in case of an emergency. To all the
people that passed out door to door
noctices, A HUGE THANK YOU and we
want to invite you to the Fire
Department’s Bar-B°Que in August for a
free dinner. Again, thanks for all your

Well, the city wide yard sale has come and
gone. We did not get very many
participants this year compared to last
year. But, we still had fun and made a little
of the green stufff to help fund the 4th of
July, Halloween festivities and Santa
Night. We want to thank all of the
participants and welcome them and
everyone else to next year’s event. My
special thanks to certain Active Club
members who went above and beyond the
call of duty by helping out and working the
event. You know who you are... Patti
Shafer, Ina Hilkey and Linda Williams.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!
(* You ’re not too bad yourself, Lori)
4th of July Happenings...
Our theme this year is “ WE THE
PEOPLE... UNITED AS ONE ” . Catchy
theme, don ’t ya think? At this time in our
lives and the way the world is today, now
more than ever we need to be united. So,
be thinking about what you would like to
be or do in the parade and pick up the
registration form at City Hall. Booth forms
are also available at City Hall. Remember,
its first come first serve on the booths in
the park. A new twist on an old ordinance
will be a $5.00 charge for each booth that
is to be paid to the Town of Butte Falls,
plus the Active Club’s 10% fee to
participate. It seems that we have never
charged the Town ’s portion of the fee.
See, you learn something everyday. Until
next month.. Lori Paxton, Active Club
President.
The Mayor and Town Council would like
to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Connie
Nicholls for donating a stove to the
Community Hall. This stove will replace
the much outdated stove that’s in there
now. Again, thanks so much for your
__________ generosity.______
