we had low attendance at these.

kids that do make it. (These also cost
money since we supply all materials etc).
Here it is February. Where does
the time go? I’m needing
something for this page and don’t
have anything right here, that is
jumping out at me. So, I started

We have done a calendar for the
last two years as a fu n d -rais e r.
With this last one it was very hard
to g e t orders. Actually, we lost
money on this one.
What do we want to do this year
■ with our local-museums?
Do th e people of Butte Falls
enjoy our m u s eu m s ?
How m a n y o f th e m h a v e n ’ t even
visited them? (I lived here for
15 years before I even saw the falls).
(We now have over $11000 in our

I attended my first monthly
meeting about 7 years ago,
mainly because I thought it would
be fun to work on a project with
Joyce Hailicka. I wasn’t that
in te re s te d in historical stuff. You
on each year (not to mention the hard
work that goes into it by just a few
people).
It seems the people that a tten d
shoud see my family tree. It is one of the
most gnarled trees you have ever seen.
But, we won’t get into that. Soon after, •
really do Dove it and appreciate
that we have it. It is great to see
the faces of the children while
they sit on Santa’s lap.
In th e summer we have childrens
programs that take alot of
planning and hard work by N elli
Ann and K a e te. This last summer [
we had a couple of the board
members die and a couple of
others move out of the area. So,
of course I was right in the middle
of things and e n de d up taking
over the bookkeeping and now
kinda watch over a good part of it
and make sure things are going
okay. Dan Murphey is there to
Hi®
b a c k me up when I need it. There
is alot to take care of here and
sometimes it can be alittle over
whelming. Tanner and I have
been attending the monthly
meetings that are put on by one
of the 12 historical s o c iety s . It is
important to do this since this is
where we get the majority of our
funding.
Anyway, I just want to remind you
that we do have two wonderful,
informative museums here for
you to enjoy. And, we are always
looking for new members. And, if
you really want to help you can fill
out the membership form that is
here and include your $5.00 fee
for the year and support us that
way.
Our next meeting is F e b ru a ry 2 3rd .
At the Smith House Museum.
