Butte Falls Lioness Club...Happy New Year!!!
2001 proved to be a good year for our club,
much was accomplished. We are saddened
by 9-11 events and pledge to renew our
efforts in service to those in need. The
Christmas Party at the Southern Oregon Sight
and Hearing Center for the visually and
hearing impaired wound up the year for us
with 136 people coming for a complete
Christmas dinner and Santa ’s arrival at the

center. I mention this because Lioness Ellen
Moore and Lioness Carol Gasperson were up
to their elbows in the spectacular food
preparations and I was a Santa helper. There
were twenty-five hearing impaired youngsters
who did not miss a phase of the event
because of the Sign Language instructors
and parents.

Our regular visually impaired people look
forward to this event and of course Santa was
there bearing gifts for all. Seeing service in
action is what it is all about. The Butte Falls
Activity Club demonstrated this fact at their
"Santa Night". Our hats are off to them.
PEACE, the coming together of all in good
fellowship, with LOVE for one another and
HOPE for the future was there, seeing all the
youngsters anxiously awaiting their turn with
Santa makes life worth while.
Our meeting is the first Tuesday of each
month, barring holidays...January meeting is
the 8th, 2002 at the Community Hall at 1
PM. Ladies, come and meet with us.
