We are saddened and deeply disturbed by the
past tragic events upon our nation. Our
thoughts and prayers go out to everyone and
every familymember of those lost, injured or
displaced. As we watch the events unfold we
feel a tremendous sense of helplessness and
despair.

your thoughts”, and you put your two
cents in, what happens to the other

Ambulance News!!!
By-Carrie Driskell
We are still a ways from our
membership of $5000. If you can help,
please call Carrie at 865-3224.
This has been a busy, busy month on
our ambulance. We had crews respond
to every call.
Watch out for kids on the road and be
careful after the first rain, the roads will
be slick.

As servants of our community, the volunteer
firefighters sympathize with our heroic fellow
firefighters of New York City who lost their
lives and those who continue with the
agonizing search and rescue efforts. One of
the greatest difficulties is the inability to
contribute our personal efforts. We are
encouraged and strengthened by their
devotion and tenacity in the face of this
unspeakable atrocity.
This tragedy reinforces our commitment to
the pursuit of exceptional service for our
community. This is accomplished only
through education, training, and community
partnership. Though our fire department
stands ready to assist our community
membership, it is everyone's responsibility to
engage fire control measures.
To further enhance our ability to protect our
community, in the past month we have
received assistance from representatives of
Oregon OSHA, Southern Oregon Regional
Communications, and Oregon Department of
Forestry. We have established safety
operations and guidelines, developed
communication standards, and completed our
requirements for the wild land grant.
We cannot be with our fellow New York
Firefighters in person, but we are there in
spirit and hope that our thoughts and prayers
rejuvenate them in their continuous struggle.

I apologize for not hanging the
flag at City Hall during the terrible
tragedy last month. The ropes on
the flag pole fell down quite some
time ago and it just took a little
longer to get it fixed than I had
hoped. A special thanks to Bill
Tucker for fixing it. If you ever
have any questions regarding city
business, p A le a s e s to p in a n d a sk.
