I want to address several things this month. First, the City Ordinance concerning nuisanc .
without keeping them
can dismantle a vehicle on any property within the city limits. This also goes for having many vehicp^ke
running or licensed. This ordinance also covers items such as swimming pools. A swimming pool
attractive nuisance. ‘ Therefore anyone having such a swimming pool is subject to fines and law suits from any
swimming pool. This also works for vehicles that have been sitting for extended periods of tune with trash but

the parents to ensure that their child is in compliance. On a good note, I do want to thank the lads that helped pull the picnic ta e ac <
to it’s original spot at the falls. You always hear about the bad things that lads do. Rarely do you hear about the good things that are
done. This was a very good effort of these youngsters and they should be proud.
A new police officer has been hired. Officer David Teresi will begin work on May 1, 2000. David has several years experience in
law enforcement, especially working with our youth. David will be a very welcome addition to our staff. Take time to say hello and
introduce yourself.

WATER, VANDALS, THE GOOD AND THE BAD
The DELIVERY part of the Town ’s new water system has been completed. All service connections to individual properties have been
installed. Everyone is now receiving water through the new (and improved) water system. A cleanup crew has already begun restoring areas
affected by the construction process. This includes Town rights-of-way, as well as private properties. Cleanup and restoration depends on
the weather, but the work is expected to be finished early in May. Preliminary work on the STORAGE part of the new system began the
last week of April. Site Preparation for the 500,0000 gallon reservoir tank is underway. No completion date has been set yet. As with
cleanup; the weather is in charge
ODDS AND ENDS
Butte Falls racked up two big ZEROS last month. Public Works had hoped for some volunteer help with the Town park project.
ZERO! A Public Hearing on the Town ’s Charter revision was held but the PUBLIC was a no-show. Only those who put the new Charter
together and a couple of others attended. A virtual ZIP !
The Dork Vandals from the Land of DUH were about their work again last month. The Falls Park viewing platform was damaged.
Also, one of the picnic tables, which was attached to a buried concrete block by chain, was uprooted and pushed over the bank It probably
took several individuals to move the weight of the table and concrete. And the Good and the bad? Wise guys from ancient times to the
present have observed that one goes with the other. If s a package deal. Iftrashing Falls Park is the bad, whafs the good> The good appeared
in the form of a group of Butte Falls students who were in Big Butte canyon to work on a trail construction project They did not like what
they saw from the viewing platform. The picnic table was hung up on a bush halfway down the slope between the platform and n
