Dwayne Dyer brings these two important skill into play when accomplishing the tasks at hand. Perhaps, it’s part of Dwayne ’s early training as a Marine to be “ always faithful ” . Dwayne isn ’t stuck in an 8-to-5 job somewhere. Instead, you will find him wherever and whenever there ’s a need or a job that needs to be done. Besides putting an addition on his house (which he is doing mostly on his own), you will find him building and repairing fence on Medford Water Commission land or driving school bus as a substitute, or as the assistant coach of the high school baseball team. And if you don ’t find him in any of these places, you may find him on a little Cat helping to prepare Schott’s field, along the truck road, in preparation for the arrival of Cycle ORE in September. Or you may even find him spending time helping his Dad, Booth Dyer, with work around his house. Although Dwayne is relatively “ new ” to our community, he was born and raised between Grandma Winnie ’s house in Butte Falls and his parents in Medford. Prior to moving back to Butte Falls last summer, with his lovely wife Laurie, who has been a medical assistant for the past eighteen years, and their three children; Brian (13), Jamie (12) and Shelley (11), Dwayne lived in northern California. He worked as a horseshoer for the last twenty years. Even if Dwayne is stubborn on some issues, he also earned widespread praise for his starring role in the Donkey Basketball Game which earned him the award for being the A ‘ ‘M o s t V a l u a b l e A _ He ’s got a lot of courage and a great sense of humor! “ Nothing is a problem for Dwayne. He sees something that needs to be done and he finds a way to do it. There ’s nothing he can ’t do, “ adds his wife Laurie. While keeping busy schedules, Dwayne and Laurie stay involved with their children ’s activities. Raising children is an important task we all face as parents. He also keeps an eye on what’s happening in the community with its hopes, dreams, and concerns. To care about children. To care about family. To give back to the community. This is the kind of man Dwayne Dyer represents as our Citizen of the Month. And what does his wife, Laurie, have to add? Only more praise... “ He is a wonderful husband and father who believes in Christ and lives his faith ” . Joyce Hailicka
