Many say that it would certainly be lacking in some of its' excitement. Lila is not only a member of the Active Club which plans the parade and festivities, but is also the creative force behind several of the floats each year. This year she helped plan and design the Lioness Club float and designed and constructed the float for the Historical Society. Last year she designed and built the floats for Home Extension and the Lioness Club. She has designed many of the floats that have won ribbons in our parades. Lila along with the help of her husband Mac, also designed and build several of the games that have been used by local organizations for the 4th of July and other events. Lila is secretaiy of the Lioness Club, a member of Home Extension and the Big Butte Historical Society, and an active church member. Along with finding time to perform the duties associated with these organizations, Lila and Mac own and operate the Butte Falls Laundromat. Lila is a long time Butte Falls resident, having grown up and attended school here. She has always been a huge supporter of the Booster Club, even while living in Medford. She returned to Butte Falls in 1979. Lila and Mac were instrumental in getting the town ball fields constructed. The field was named to honor Mac. As a Booster Club member, Lila organized fundraisers for bleachers, scoreboards and dugouts at the school ball Lila spruces up an event with a palm tree. PONMLKJIHGFEDCBA field. Lila has hosted the Annual Sports Award Banquet. She likes to cheer on friends and relatives and travels long distances to attend district and state playoffs. As well as supporting sporting events, Lila has been on the Butte Falls Scholarship Committee and helped with last years fund-raising dinner during the Forest Jubilee. She has been on the School District Budget Committee and has been a Town Council member. Lila is active in church, having helped with vacation bible school, the ladies tea, and has also been a regular performer in the Christmas Cantata. Lila and Mac are known for their friendly manner and willingness to share their time and experiences. When you get a chance stop by the Totem Pole early some morning and spend a few minutes over a cup of coffee getting to know these folks. It's neighbors like this that make Butte Falls such a wonderful place to live. The Laundromat “remembers when: ....’’those were the days???” g ♦ ♦
