On December 10th, 1995 we lost Audrey M itchell. Audrey was 68. She was born on August 4th, 1927 in M edford and lived in the Rogue Valley all of her life. She was a homemaker and worked at various jobs during her lifetime. Those of us that knew Audrey knew her as a spunkey, independent lady. She was a pleasure to visit with. You always knew what was on her mind. Audrey is missed by her large family and many friends. Survivors include, three sons, M ichael M itchell, and Allen M itchell, both of Central Point, James M itchell, Portland, five daughters, Sandra M cConochie, both of M edford, Kathy Bouneff, Gaston, Oregon, Zeldann Dale Hoopes, Copalis Beach, W ashington, Bonnie Tusinger, Lakewood, Colorado, two brothers, Francis “ Pinochle ” Poole Jr., M edford, Glenn W orth Hugh Albert Jr., Shady Cove, three sisters, Elizabeth “ Bettie ” Albert, Butte Falls, Priscilla Hedgepeth, Baker City, Oregon, Norm a Geortzen, Dominion City, M anitoba Canada, 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. On January 24th, 1996, Louise Smith passed away at the age of 80. She was bom October 18th, 1915, in Holly, Colorado. On December 6th, 1971, in M oscow, Idaho, she married John Albert Smith, who died in 1988. They moved to Butte Falls from Banks, Oregon, 15 years ago. Louise worked at the Banks Post Office for 30 years. Survivors include her three sons, Jack Brown, Butte Falls, W ayne Denham, Redding, and Jack Smith, La Grande, a daughter, M elba Bretenhauer, Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. Louis ’ s family and her many friends in Butte Falls will miss this sweet lady. Also in December, Carlos Carrillo, District Ranger at Butte Falls, lost his Dad. This was a tough time for Carlos, the furlough was in full swing and the Holidays were also in full swing. The Butte Falls Ranger District employees never saw Carlos waiver from his duties at the office. Our sympathy ’ s to Bev and Carlos.
