i Record-Courier 3 THURSDAY, JUNE 23 ,2016 Kristi Lynn Harvey April 1977-June 2016 Kristi Lynn Harvey, 39, formerly of Baker City passed away June 14, 2016 at her residence in Bums, Ore. Her funeral service was held at First Church of the Nazarene, 1250 Hughes Lane, Baker City, on Saturday, June 18,2016. A reception followed at the Nazarene Family Life Center. Kristi was bom April 26, 1977 to Bill Harvey and Julie Miller. She attended HainesElementary School, Palmer Elementary School and the Agape Christian School. She worked as a CNA and a pharmacy tech, then started her nursing degree through nightschool while still working. After 3 years as a full time student she graduated with a 3.98 from Eastern Oregon University and OHSU with her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Kristi was an exceptional registered nurse as was evident in the following description of her by a colleague: "Kristi treats her patients with the greatest respect. She goes above, and beyond, to support the highest levels of comfort and care. Kristi is a skilled nurse who has a special ability to approach emergencies with calmness and efficiency that is reassuring for the patient and their families. She has rapidly become a leader and is a strong member of the nursing team!" Kristi loved her children, her family and her savior, Jesus. She also loved the outdoors, branding, four-wheeling, hiking, wood cutting, mushrooming and berry picking. Kristi was preceded in death by her Grandpa Alvin Culley, great grand mothers, Melvina Topliffand Phoebee Lyons, cousins, Ryan Culley and Danny Mann. She is survived by her children, Sierra, Kyler and Austin DeVore, her father and stepmother, Bill and Lome Harvey, her mother and stepfa ther, Julie and Terry Miller, brothers, Bill Harvey, Jr. and Nathan Miller and his wife Shoshanna, sisters, Andrea Lucas and Nicole Landstrom, grandmothers, Pat Culley and Nancy Schmauderer, the Love of her Life, Terry Carroll, as well as many aunts, uncles and extended family. To light a candle in memory of Kristi, please visit: www.grayswestco.com. Bruce Charles Attwater March 1951 - June 2016 Brace Charles Attwater, 65, of Baker City, Ore., died June 3,2016. He went to be with the Lord, and see his son Donald Edwin Attwater. Brace was bom March 5, 1951 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Donald Edwin and Charlotte Attwater. Brace loved to travel. He took his three children on cross country va cations to Florida, to the beaches of Hawaii, to Canada, and to Mexico. He captured many great moments on film. He recently taught his grand children to play checkers and card games. Brace will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Brace is survived by his son, Jason Attwater; daughter, Christina Hill; son-in-law, Aaron Hill; five grandchildren, Alicia, Audrey, Ariana, Alivia and Aaron all of Roseburg; his fiance, Audrey Slavich, of Baker City, his nieces and nephews Jon, David, and Jeff Schiedler of Wood bum, and Jenny Mohr and David Attwater of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. There will be a celebration of -life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at New Beginnings Church of God, 518 NE Nash Street in Roseburg. There will be a gathering at Christina and Jason's home following the celebration. Online condolences may be shared at www.tamispinevalleyfu- neralhome.com Lynda Ann Huston King May 1941 - June 2016 Lynda King, 75, died June 14,2016 at her home in Baker City with her family at her side. A private family interment was held at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Friday, June 17. A memorial service and celebration of Lynda's life followed at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene. Friends and family attended a reception held immediately following the service. Lynda Ann Huston King, wife, mother, sister, and friend, was bom on May 31,1941 in San Bernardino. Calif, to Lynn and Ann Huston. She grew up in Iowa and California. She graduated in 1959 from Pacific High School in San Bernardino. She enrolled in nursing classes for several semesters at Biola University in Southern California. She met Alan King (he obviously fared better than she) and was married December 8, 1961. After having her brood of three, the decision was made in 1977 to move to Baker City, and try the much slower pace of Eastern Oregon compared to Southern California. In 1982, Lynda began working at South Baker Elementary School. In no time, she was running the office. Soon "Mrs. King" was who every grade school kid needed to see if they wanted anything! The last few years at South Baker were spent teaching reading. After retiring she volunteered with the Smart Reading Program. She loved Jesus as her personal savior and was an amazing prayer warrior. She was a firm believer in eating healthy and walked an average of three miles a day. She enjoyed going on cruises, making road trips to see her kids and family, watching golf, jigsaw puzzles, knitting (some awesome afghans!) and enjoyed watching the birds all over the yard. Lynda is survived by her husband, Alan B. King; her children Brad King and Stephanie Stark; her sister Tommie Billings; grandchildren Brittny Smith, Alissa King, Connor Stark, Madalynn Stark, and great- granddaughter, Meira King. She was preceded in death by her son, Sean William King; her brother Stan Huston; and her parents. For those who would like to make a memorial donation in memory of.
