Students had a chance to check out the Food Truck industry in downtown Portland, attend a Blazer’s game and tour the facili­ ties, participate in engaging work­ shops, and view the final rounds of event presentations. Members tested and presented in a variety of events, and were recog­ nized for the following achieve­ ments: CHAPTER AWARDS Enthusiasm Award - given to only one chapter at the state conference, based on supporting its members at awards and presentations, dressing in business attire at all times, deco­ rating room doors, and having a positive influence during the whole conference 2nd in the running for Chapter of the Year for our 4A division - based on number of riiembers in the club,; completing as many projects as possible such as the Government Promo Project, Outstanding Chapter award, and Annual Business Report; number of mem­ bers who complete the Business Achievement Awards; how well members place at state; and much more Outstanding Chapter award - given by the national office for those chapters that complete a series of tasks related to education, service, and progress Chapter Challenge award (the only chapter in Oregon to receive this honor!) ~ given by the national office for those chapters that com­ plete a series of tasks all year long that help recruit and retain members and promote FBLA Government Promo Project -1 recognition for completing a series of tasks that help promote the organization to elected officials Gold Seal Chapter Award recognition - only the top 15 percent of chapters can earn it Local Chapter Annual Business Report - Josie Bryan and Koby Hansen, 9th Chapter Newsletter - Ashlie Chastain, 8th MEMBER AWARDS & RECOGNITION Those who placed 1st 4th qualify for nationals. Because many of the track team were at State websites: http://www.fbla-pbl.org/ FBLA, the races weren't run in relays, and it was more of a http://www.oregonfbla.org/ traditional track meet. Ontario was second in both. Winners in the men's meet were: Porter Cline - 200 meters; Darian Villalobos - Javelin; Logan Sand - long jump; Teancum. Taylor - triple jump, the 4x100 relay - Trace Thamert, Sam; Hamilton, Chris Conant and Porter Cline; and the 4x400 relay: - Sand, Hamilton, Conant and Villalobos. Second place finishers: Trace Thamert -100 meters; Tracy- Crum -110 meter hurdles; Logan Sand- high jump; and Tean-- cum Taylor - pole vault. Third place finishers: Chris Conant - 200 meters; Cody Bingham - 3000 meters; Garrett Nickens -110 meter hurdles; Porter Cline - shot put; and Trace Thamert - triple jump. Fourth place finishers: Sam Hamilton - 400 meters; Baker B 4x100 relay - Tracy Crum, Sam Black, Garrett Nickens and Caden Spencer; and Teancum Taylor- long jump. Fifth place finishers: Cody Bingham - 800 meters; Tracy Crum 300 meter hurdles; Sam Black - high jump; and Trace Thamert - long jump.
