December is here and for many Ameri-
cans that often means craziness.
There is so much to do!
Decorating - Do you put lights outside
your house? Outside decorating can mean most
anything from a wreath on the door to lights
hanging from the gutters, covering the bushes
and adorning all your outside trees. If you’ve
watched Christmas Vacation and most people
have, then you know outside decorating can
become intense.
Grocery Shopping - Cooking Americans
know the workload involved in preparing for a
Christmas meal but also the other days of the
month. Family coming in early or stopping by
normally invokes the call for extra cookies and
snacks around the house. How many trips can
any good soul make to the store in a month?
The aisles of the stores and checkout lines can
be tedious this time of year. Beware and don’t
wreck your grocery cart while hurrying to get
through the check out!
Buying gifts - Obviously America’s
stores count on Christmas holidays to finan-
cially see them through the year. Christmas
spending is a big chunk of your local mall’s
budget each year. Most Americans enjoy giv-
ing but commonsense should always be em-
ployed. Don’t overdo it. Don’t break the bank
giving stuff to people who may not need what
you are buying. Even if they may need it you
should only give what you can afford. Don’t
buy on a credit card that might take you a year
to repay the debt.
Go For Quality - Quality time seems
to have vanished in the modern age. We have
more communication’s technology before
and less communication. We can email, text
message, face time, Skype, email, post on
social media and then of course there are cell
phones and old fashioned mail and landline
phones still exist. Yet, people are talking less
and visiting less than ever it seems. There is
only so much of you to go around but try to
find some meaningful moments with the real
people in your life. Real talking one on one
and doing something together with family or
close friends are Christmas moments usually
remembered.

of places to give your money. Your church,

Today is Wednesday, Dec. 6, the 340th day of 2017. There

On Dec. 6, 1917, some 2,000 people were killed when an
explosives-laden French cargo ship, the Mont Blanc, collided
with the Norwegian vessel Imo at the harbor in Halifax, Nova
Scotia, setting off a blast that devastated the Canadian city.
Finland declared its independence from Russia.

In 1790, Congress moved to Philadelphia from New York.
In 1865, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,

In 1889, Jefferson Davis, the first and only president of

In 1907, the worst mining disaster in U.S. history
occurred as 362 men and boys died in a coal mine explosion in
Monongah, West Virginia.
In 1922, the Anglo-Irish Treaty, which established the
Irish Free State, came into force one year to the day after it was
signed in London.
In 1942, comedian Fred Allen premiered “Allen’s Alley,”
a recurring sketch on his CBS radio show spoofing small-town
America.
In 1947, Everglades National Park in Florida was
dedicated by President Harry S. Truman.
In 1957, America’s first attempt at putting a satellite into
orbit failed as Vanguard TV3 rose about four feet off a Cape
Canaveral launch pad before crashing down and exploding.
In 1967, three days after the first human heart transplant
took place in South Africa, a surgical team at Maimonides

lions on the planet celebrate the birth of Jesus.
During this season of the year please find time
to take a closer look at the baby in the manger
that Christians around the globe celebrate.
The world is desperate for some real peace
on earth. We need calm on the planet and in
the hearts of the people. With so much war,
terrorism, poverty, violence in every American
town, broken homes and broken lives could we

vowed to serve the interests of the nation, not the church, if

Five years ago: Shocking some of his closest Republican
colleagues, Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina announced
he would resign his seat to head Washington’s conservative
Heritage Foundation think tank. Marijuana possession became
legal in Washingon state, the day a measure approved by voters
to regulate marijuana like alcohol took effect.
One year ago: President-elect Donald Trump officially
announced he would nominate retired Marine Gen. James
Mattis to be his defense secretary, bringing his pick onstage at
a rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina; Mattis briefly addressed
the crowd as he thanked Trump for choosing him.

story? Upon the birth of Christ the heavenly
host declared, “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Peace and goodwill....now there is something
we can all give and use.

In order for God to thwart copulation, He has the

very important, the eunuch suggest that he and any

Acts are very important, it describes to the neophyte
that the eunuch ascribes with much knowledge and
wisdom. As Daniel, raised to lofty positions in the
government by mighty kings. Further knowledge will
show the man to adhere to the Masonic steps, 3, 5, 7
for his conduct through the path of life, in the favor
of the Almighty. Three is the fear of God, five is the
number for reproduction and seven is to follow God’s
plan. Mortals have a contribution to life with a study

Churches generally give an opportunity for people
to share their gifts musically. People of all sorts, who maybe
have never sung before except in the shower, will stand and
sing to honor their Lord. I had a friend years ago who I never
would have believed could sing, and yet, one Sunday he did
special music in a rich, mellow baritone voice.
One church I was involved with had special music
on Sundays for both morning and evening services. On one
Sunday evening, the individual who was to sing the special
music didn’t show up. The assistant pastor who had been
leading the congregational singing asked – jokingly, I believe
– if there was anyone who would like to come up and sing.
A lady stood up and began to move toward the front of the
church. She had never sung in church before, and I believe
everyone was surprised. She came from a tough background
and had only just begun her new life in Christ. With no music
to back her up, she simply sang, “Something beautiful, some-
thing good; All my confusion He understood. All I had to
offer Him was brokenness and strife, but He made something
beautiful of my life.” The stunned congregation watched her
return to her seat. A more powerful message could not have
been presented. Her song spoke of a life changed, renewed,
and born again. That’s what Jesus does – He makes all things
new.
