*At 9:32 a.m. a dark-
haired fellow was following
teenaged girls near 230 N.
Redwood Hwy. He was
jumping in and out of traffic,
and even hopped on the back
of a semi. A concerned citizen
phoned Josephine County
Sheriff’s Office (JCSO)
when he saw the menace
shove an elderly man to the
ground. Justin Taylor, 29, was
detained in Josephine County
Jail on charges of second-
degree disorderly conduct and
probation violation.
*Luey Magic Ocean Music
Glenn, 28, is back in Josephine
County Jail following his arrest in
the 200 block of W. Palmer Street
at 11:29 a.m. Glenn had a felony
warrant for failure to appear on
charges of second-degree burglary
and third-degree theft.
*A gal didn’t appreciate a
photographer taking her picture
on Oct. 29 between 6-6:40 p.m.
in the 300 block of S. Junction
Avenue. She felt that it violated
their restraining order. Then again,
he may have just been taking
photos of the haunted house at
Jubilee Park. The tricky issue will
be addressed when they go to court
on Halloween.
*Folks in the 4700 block of
Holland Loop are worried that
their neighbors may be shooting
without an appropriate backstop.
The gunshots are being fired at all
hours of the night, by marijuana
growers that might be from W.
Virginia or Tennessee or Kentucky.
Tuesday, Oct. 31
*At approximately 2 a.m.
Oct. 24, two guys and a gal
were caught on camera as
they cut gate locks and broke
into a maintenance shed in the
500 block of E. River Street.
They took a gas blower and
weed eater, various gardening
equipment, and a tool bag
full of pliers, socket sets,
screwdrivers and a hammer.
A report was filed for second-
degree burglary, criminal
mischief, and theft.
*Deputies contacted an
individual who was sitting in
the passenger seat of a Ford
Explorer that was parked at
the end of Lurline at 1:28
p.m. She said she didn’t know
who owned the vehicle. She
was just “hanging out” and
the driver offered to smoke a
cigarette with her. Inside the
Ford was a substantial amount
of marijuana, and a .22-
caliber rifle with a scope and
extended magazine.
Wednesday, Nov. 1
*Folks in the 400 block
of Queen of Bronze think
it’s a royal pain when their
neighbors fire cannons.
*It seemed suspicious
when a skinny black-haired
gal and a tall guy jumped out
of a silver-colored Subaru
wagon, then hurried down
Caves Hwy. at 3:12 p.m. They
claimed they were searching
for a phone that fell off
their vehicle. Kiley William
Ortman, 42, was cited to
appear at the Jackson County
Courthouse for a misdemeanor
warrant for failure to appear
for fourth-degree assault.
*A tenant in the 2000
block of Laurel Road wants
her landlord to quit stalling,
and hold her horses. The
animals roam free, and were
being aggressive and attacking
her at 5:55 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 2
*At 9:06 a.m., a not-
too-sharp guy in a blue Ford
flatbed pickup truck pulled

happy about a wrecked BMW
that has been parked for the

in the 2000 block of Laurel

*Drama continued as
the elderly landlady in the
2000 block of Laurel Road
complained about her tenants
and their pot farmer friends.
*A hysterical individual
thought he would have a
nervous breakdown because
of a fellow who was shooting
his bird cannon or potato gun
in the 400 block of Queen
of Bronze. At 2:46 p.m.
two deputies inspected the
backdrop, and determined
that the cannon was being
fired into a large, tree-covered
bank.
*The determined cannon
shooter in the 400 block
of Queen of Bronze Road
stated that he was using a
black powder cannon with
no projectiles. He planned
on shooting again on the
weekend, and didn’t want
JCSO to waste their time to
come and check on him again.
His range already passed
inspection.
Friday, Nov. 3
*A fellow and his
mechanic bragged about what
a great car a woman was
buying when they sold her a
2000 Mercury Mountaineer for
$900. The shysters apparently
painted black paint on the
tires, so they wouldn’t look
worn. By the time she drove
the car home, the tires looked
like they were about to have a
blowout. Two hours later, the
Mountaineer stopped working
completely. The shady used-
car salesman never even
provided her with a title to the
Mercury.
*There was a disturbance
involving a grouchy grandpa
in the 300 block of Burgundy
Lane at 3:53 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 4
*At 4:59 p.m., a woman
driving a green or silver-
colored Subaru backed into
another car in a parking lot
at 202 S. Redwood Hwy. A
compassionate citizen realized
that the woman was highly
intoxicated, and convinced her
to stay and have a meal before
she drove anywhere.
