*A fellow claimed that
his house in the 100 block of
Kinnikinnick Drive had been
burglarized between April 1 and
July 21, 2017. His 2011 GMC Sierra
was vandalized as well. His list of
missing items included household
goods, tools, building supplies,
bicycles, a motorcycle, a 10-22
Ruger rifle, and vending machines.
He suspects the tacky thieves used
his enclosed trailer to transport the
goods. He waited a month to report
the crime while he tracked down the
serial numbers of the vehicles and
trailer.
*At 9:37 a.m. a guy wearing a
green baseball cap was told to leave
property in the 100 block of Finch
Road. His response was to brandish
a machete and say, “You don’t have
to be a jerk.” He was later seen
sitting on the curb behind Kerby
Mart, drinking a beer, with his trusty
machete by his side
*Entrepreneurial panhandlers
pushed the “walk” buttons repeatedly
to stop traffic at S. Redwood Hwy.
and Caves Hwy. at 1:12 p.m.
*There was a motor vehicle
accident involving a white Ford
Bronco which rolled over near Hays
Cutoff Road and Holland Loop at
3:40 p.m. Jessie Wolfe, 33, was
charged with driving under the
influence of intoxicants - alcohol,
reckless driving, and operating a
vehicle without driving privileges.
He was cited to appear in lieu of
arrest.
*A guy was unloading his
vehicle at a site just past Store
Gulch Campground at 7:30 p.m.
Aug. 18. Between trips to his
campsite, someone apparently helped
themselves to his air mattress, power
converter for auto, insurance papers
and registration.
Monday, August 21
*Squatters have returned to the
Community Garden in the 100 block
of S. Kerby Avenue, according to
a call received at 11:06 a.m. They
sprouted up in a small camp at the
back of the property.
*Between 2-8 a.m., an unlocked
(why?) vehicle in the 200 block
of Stevenson Street was broken
into. Missing items include a black
wallet containing a debit card, food
card, driver’s license, and Social
Security cards. A report was filed
for unauthorized entry into a motor
vehicle, second-degree theft, and
criminal mischief.
*There was a hen-fight between
two gals parked in a vehicle on
Woodcock Court at 12:59 p.m.
They were yelling, screaming, and
cursing at each other for at least 45
minutes. The disturbance seemed to
be regarding a stolen vehicle, which
was recovered in the 100 block

Hicks will have some explaining
to do to his probation officer on
Monday.
*At 1:11 p.m. a resident in

thought that the new neighbor looked

weekday newscast. (Eh, they all look
alike.)

bottles and insulting an individual in
the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy.
at 2:57 p.m. A deputy encountered

*Residents were concerned
about renters in the 1000 block of
Kirkham Road at 5:09 p.m. because
a bully was hitting, choking, and
kicking a woman who was holding
a child. When she tried to escape,
he told her “You’re not leaving with
my baby.” The baby screamed as he
dragged her around in her car seat in
a tug-of-war. Johnnie Peters, 37, was
transported and detained in Josephine
County Jail, charged with domestic
violence and fourth-degree assault.
Wednesday, August 23
*A frantic pet owner was
ranting and screaming for law
enforcement at 10:19 a.m. in the 300
block of Caves Hwy. Apparently, he
was upset because the veterinarian
was not available. He was advised
to make a follow-up appointment to
obtain after-care instructions for his
dog.
*After a landlord evicted
his tenant from the 100 block of
Sanger Lane, he found a set of
vehicle keys that he believed were
stolen. He turned them in to Grants
Pass Department of Public Safety
(GPDPS). The discovery of the keys
may have solved a case involving a
silver-colored 2003 Honda Accord
that was stolen from Club Northwest.

warrant for failure to appear and
failure to report as a sex offender.

Thursday, August 24
*A resident in the 1600 block
of Thompson Creek Road stated
that someone cut the lock onto his
property at 2:12 p.m. The trespassers
were still on site with a trailer, so the
clever home owner blocked the exit
with his white older Dodge pickup
truck until law enforcement could
arrive. Robert Charles Breakfield, 53,
was arrested on a Josephine County
felony warrant, charged with failure
to appear for felon in possession
of firearm, unlawful possession of
firearm, and felon in possession of a
restricted weapon.
Friday, August 25

a.m. The situation escalated at 10:45
