*A gal in the 100 block of N. Caves
Avenue did not appreciate a trespasser that
was loitering around her property. The
intruder wasn’t doing anything, but she was
known for her bad habit of stealing bicycles
and stashing them under her RV port awning.
*A chaplain was summoned at
11:32 a.m. for a person who succumbed
to a gunshot wound in the 3000 block of
Westside Road.
*On May 2, a fellow in the 400 block
of Queen of Bronze Road was grading
his easement when his hostile neighbor
pointed a rifle and fired off a shot over his
head. When he returned 30 minutes later,
the grouch drove his truck in a threatening
manner towards him.
*Two guests engaged in domestic
violence at 12:16 p.m. at 24810 Redwood
Hwy. They were yelling and pushing each
other in front of an 11-month old baby.
The couple claimed their fight was verbal,
but admitted that they broke each other’s
phones. They were advised of their options,
and that a report would be forwarded to
Department of Human Services.
*The front license plate was removed
from a vehicle parked on private property in
the 24100 block of Redwood Hwy. at 1:12
p.m. The owner was advised of his driver’s
license status.
*A duo didn’t set a very good example
when they were fighting in front of children
in the 300 block of W. O’Brien Street at 1:36
p.m.
*A fellow phoned for assistance with
his computer, but when his helpers called
him back, there was no answer, even though
his vehicle was there in the 4500 block of
Laurel Avenue. It turned out that he was at
Royal Gardens, and not at home.
*The driver of a Chevy was pulled over
at MP 38 of Hwy. 199 at 2:14 p.m.
*A deputy patrolled the area from
Sherier Road to Fernwood Drive at 2:22
p.m.
*Jerry’s Towing Co. responded to the
800 block of N. Old Stage Road at 2:53 p.m.
*At 4:21 p.m. a motorist in a red
Durango with no front license plate was
stopped at Old Stage Road and E. River
Street. He was cited into Cave Junction
Municipal Court for DWS/V and uninsured
driving.
*A misinformed busy-body phoned 911
because his friend told him that there was a
fight going on in front of Art’s Red Garter
Steakhouse at 4:31 p.m.

Thursday, May 4
*Residents in the 3600 block of Dick
George Road were not happy with new
occupants in the neighborhood because they
shoot small and large caliber guns as soon
as it gets dark. There are concerns that the
newbies are not practicing safety precautions
to protect people and animals in adjacent
properties.
*It was reported that a tall, thin guy
with black hair and a goatee was stealing
a 30’ Springdale fifth-wheel trailer from
the 1400 block of Arrowhead Drive at
2:36 p.m. A witness claimed that drug
paraphernalia was being removed from the
location the previous night. The alleged thief
believed that the trailer should belong to

Friday, May 5
*Oregon State Police and California
Highway Patrol forwarded information
regarding a road rage incident at MP 41 of
Hwy. 199 at 11 a.m. A gold-colored Chevy
Tahoe and a gray Sierra pickup truck with
Oregon plates were headed towards Grants
Pass when one driver passed on a double
line and cut off the other vehicle.
*A mother stated that her daughter
assaulted her at 9 p.m. on May 3. She had
a red mark or bruise on her left cheek, and
is pursuing a restraining order against her
offspring. The incident was unfounded as
an assault, but the mom wanted the incident
logged for future reference.
*A gal was upset that her estranged
husband returned to her residence in the 300
block of Pine Tree Way at 1:19 p.m. He was
collecting his belongings. She was advised
to document everything that he removed,
then to present the information to the judge
as part of the divorce hearings.
*Chief Hoke of Illinois Valley Fire
District saved the day by stopping a
confrontation at the Western Plaza at 4:26
p.m. A group of teens were arguing with a
homeless woman named Melissa. One of the
juveniles was seen with a gun, and Melissa
was armed with a knife, but the gang
dispersed when the Chief arrived.

Saturday, May 6
*At 10:11 a.m. there was a white
Dodge pickup truck parked over the fog line
near Lakeshore Drive and Thompson Creek
Road. A tow truck was summoned to remove
the vehicle with license plates that expired
in 2008.
*On May 5, a motorist in a white
Honda flew through the gates at Illinois
Valley High School at 11 a.m. The show-
off’s speeding caused the car to spin
sideways around the circular driveway in
front of the school.
*SOS reported an activated alarm
at 11:17 a.m. at Cascade Auto and Truck
Repair.
*At 1:07 p.m. a citizen was worried
about a 10-year-old child who had been
sitting in a car in the 200 block of S.
Redwood Hwy. for 15 minutes. The car was
parked in the sun with the window cracked.
When the mother was approached, she
advised that the kid could open the door if
needed.
*A large tree fell near Reeves Creek
Road and Lakeshore Drive at 3:18 p.m. It
was not a hazard once it was moved to the
side of the road, but there was debris in
the road. Josephine County Department of
Public Works was advised that the tree was
in a drainage culvert.
*The driver of a white Dodge pickup
truck was speeding and crossing the double
yellow line on Hwy. 199 near West River
Street at 5:27 p.m.
*A newer yellow Volkswagen bug was
parked all day in the bus turnaround at MM
4 on E. Fork Road.
*SOS reported a triggered alarm at 5:54
p.m. on the exterior motion detector of a
feed shed in the 400 block of Caves Hwy.
