*When a woman cleaned
a residence in the 200 block of
S. Caves Avenue at 2:44 p.m.,
she found syringes and drug
paraphernalia. JCSO disposed
of the items.
*Citizens were concerned
about their elderly neighbor
who usually walked to town
every two days, but they had
not seen him for a week. A
welfare check at 3:13 p.m. in
the 900 block of Caves Hwy.
determined that he was de-
ceased.
*A white 1998 Chrysler
Newport was reported on Sun-
crest Road, near Waldo Road
at 3:06 p.m. The car door was
open, and there were personal
possessions and clothes inside.
This was a duplicate call, and
the Chrysler was on private
property.
*JCSO attempted to de-
liver restraining orders in the
500 block of E. River Street at
3:52 p.m.; in the 100 block of
S. Kerby Avenue at 4:02 p.m.;
and the 300 block of Pine-
wood Way at 4:30 p.m.

*Twenty-three incidents.
Friday, Jan. 27
*Be on the lookout for a
young man going door-to-door
in the Kerby and Cave Junc-
tion area. A woman in the 100
block of N. Boundry Avenue
provided him with her social
security number when he gave
her a notice from a “Reverse
Mortgage Servicing Depart-
ment.” She later realized this
was a fraudulent notice, and
reported the crime at 9:03 a.m.
*A homeless guy wearing
a green Army jacket and car-
rying a black backpack stole
a red and black mountain bike
from the back of a white Ford
F150. The truck was parked in
the 200 block of N. Redwood
Hwy. when the theft occurred
at 7:35 p.m. Jan. 26.
*A feisty young redhead
threatened an employee at a
store in the 100 block of S.
Redwood Hwy. at 3:46 a.m.
She had previously been tres-
passed by the store’s owner,
and finally left when she
found out that law enforce-
ment was contacted.

Saturday, Jan. 28
*A deputy checked the
4000 block of Westside Road
at 11:26 a.m.
*There was an open gate
on Bureau of Land Manage-
ment land at MP 5 on Westside
Road at 11:45 a.m.
Outside the Valley
*Fifteen items.
Sunday, Jan. 29
*Oregon State Police
reported an older model, blue
Dodge Neon that was tailgat-
ing and swerving from side to
side and attempting to pass on
the right shoulder at MP 37 on
Hwy. 199 at 2 p.m.
*A woman and a child
in a cream-colored Lincoln
Oldsmobile were not buckled
into their seat belts at 2:25
p.m. on N. Old Stage Road
and Laurel Road.
*Two hombres were hav-
ing a shoot-out in the parking
lot in the 100 block of Red-
wood Hwy. at 3:26 p.m. Four
rounds were fired, but they
had not shot each other. Yet.
*A motorcyclist was
warned for operating without
a license at 6425 Lakeshore
Drive at 3:34 p.m.
*At 5:35 p.m. a motorist
in a white Ford Explorer was
cautioned because his front
right headlight was not work-
ing in the 3000 block of Deer
Creek Road. To make matters
worse, he had run out of gas
and was waiting for someone
to help him.
