Monday, Jan. 9
*A resident of Klamath
Falls phoned Josephine
County Sheriff’s Office
(JCSO) at 9:21 a.m. to request
a welfare check because
she had not heard from her
parents for three days. When
a deputy arrived in the 1800
block of Crooks Creek Road,
her folks were OK and
chatting with their daughter.
*At 12:14 p.m. a woman
in the 300 block of Logan
Cut Drive stated that she
was receiving threatening
phone calls from someone
who was staying with her.
Her ungrateful guest broke a
glass table top and two garage
windows with a stick before
he walked towards Redwood
Hwy. with his girlfriend. The
21-year-old was last seen
wearing a brown jacket and
black pants, and his girlfriend
was carrying a Tinkerbell
backpack. The unappreciated
hostess was advised of her
civil options regarding the
tenant status of Peter Pan and
his sidekick.
*A guy said he had
information that his stolen
1957 GMC step-side
one-fourth ton truck with
California plates was in
the 90 block of Raymond
Street at 2:42 p.m. A deputy
checked that location and
could not see that truck,
but he did notice a similar
model in the 600 block of
Sherwood Avenue. There was
no paperwork in the glove
box or VIN anywhere on the
short-bed, model 3100 truck,
which had been parked there
for approximately nine to 12
months. It was likely not a
match.
*Jubilee Park was OK
during an area check at 3:55
p.m.
*Forks State Park was
fine at 4:04 p.m.
*At MP 21 on Hwy.
199, there was an unoccupied
vehicle in the ditch with the
lights on at 4:27 p.m.
*There was another
vehicle crash on Redwood
Hwy. at Wild Park Lane at
4:45 p.m.
*Another vehicle was
towed after blocking the road
at MP 22 on Hwy. 199 at 4:46
p.m.
*A driver was cautioned
to not stop in the middle of
Hwy. 199 again, after a motor
vehicle accident at 5:02 p.m.
at 20303 Redwood Hwy.
*The ditch won again,
this time at MP 16 on Hwy.
199 at 5:22 p.m. (Slow down,
people.)
Outside the Valley
*Twenty incidents
Tuesday, Jan. 10
*A stolen vehicle
crashed into a power pole in
the 7500 block of Takilma
Road at 9:02 a.m. At 4:30
p.m. a message was left for
WHERE’S
THE ALARM?
The volunteers and staff of the
Illinois Valley Fire District
Responded to these recent Emergency calls
Monday 1/9/2017
the registered owner that
it had been recovered and
towed.
*Josephine County
Public Works Dept. was
informed of high water at
9:54 a.m. at Lakeshore Drive
and Deer Creek Road. The
situation was getting worse,
and signs were needed to
warn of the flooding.
*A disabled red Toyota
was creating a traffic hazard
at 12:02 p.m., blocking
traffic at Reeves Creek Road
and Lakeshore Drive. The
registered owner had not yet
reported the vehicle as stolen.
JCSO rendered assistance
as the recovered Toyota was
towed.
*At 12:39 a wacko was
threatening to burn down
the Siskiyou Medical Health
Center at 25647 Redwood
Hwy. The menace yelled that
he would come back with
swords and cut everyone.
He has been permanently
discharged and trespassed
from the clinic for the safety
of staff and patients.
*An 86-year-old woman
ordered groceries, but the
delivery person could not
maneuver down her driveway
in the 300 block of Garner
Road due to snow. Help
arrived and brought her food
to her house.
*There was a traffic stop
at Lakeshore Drive and Hwy.
199 at 1:25 p.m.
*JCSO checked on a
veteran patient in the 7900
block of Takilma Road at 4:19
p.m. He was OK, but there
was a lot of water running
through his driveway.
*A guy had been snow-
bound in his home in the
17500 block of Redwood
Hwy. for 10 days. The snow
from the road to his house
was more than a foot deep,
so he was unable to get food
for his animals and himself.
He was frustrated with the
conditions, and stated that all
the agencies were “worthless”
at 3:02 p.m. His home was
50 yards off the highway, so
he was going to walk to see if
his neighbor would give him
a ride. His new best buddies
just had their entire driveway
plowed, so he no longer
needed law enforcement
assistance.
*Burglary to a residence
in the 1900 block of Holland
Loop was reported at 3:08
p.m. A late 80’s Bounder
motor home was stolen
overnight. The RV is beige
with orange and gold-colored
striping.
*A negligent motorist in
the 2700 block of Rockydale
Road was warned for driving
on a suspended license and
violation of the basic rules of
the road at 3:48 p.m.
Outside the Valley
*Twenty-one situations.
Wednesday, Jan. 11
*JCSO transported a
family from Tarter Gulch at
9:12 a.m. One guy was upset
that his driveway was not
plowed so that they could get
out. (It’s called a shovel.)
*A white Ford dually
pickup truck with tool boxes
in the back was in a ditch near
Jubilee Park at 9:30 a.m. A
witness observed a suspect hit
a building in the 100 block of
S. Sawyer Avenue just before
the truck ran off the road.
Surveillance footage was
reviewed, and a report was
filed for unauthorized use of
a vehicle and hit-and-run with
property damage.
*A deputy gleaned
information at Farmer’s
Building Supply at 10:10 a.m.
*Between 5-8 a.m.,
a white Mazda coupe was
taken from the 10900 block
of Caves Hwy. The man who
reported the theft was not the
registered owner, and he did
not know the license plate
number. He found the Mazda
on his own, and no longer
needed assistance from JCSO.
*A white Chrysler
Sebring was stolen from the
300 block of Schumacher
Street, and found later at High
Pines Campground in Kerby.
Assistance was rendered in
recovering and towing the
convertible.
*A deputy patrolled
Lurline Lane and Laurel Road
at 11:47 a.m.
*A blue Fiesta from
Minnesota was parked at
the end of a driveway in the
6400 block of Takilma Road
at 12:04 p.m. One window
was broken during the night
of Jan. 10, but nothing was
taken. A deputy provided an
incident number for insurance
purposes.
*Three Boys Towing
Company was assigned to
deal with a jalopy at the
gravel pit in the 4700 block of
Waldo Road at 12:25 p.m.
*Law enforcement
investigated in the 300 block
of N. Sawyer Avenue at 1:46
p.m.
*All things were as they
should be in the 100 block of
Ollis Road at 1:51 p.m.
*The driver of a brown
pickup truck with no license
plate was pulled over at 1:56
p.m. at Stevenson Street and
N. Sawyer Avenue. Travis
Wayne Wilson, 25, was
detained at Josephine County
Jail for local and fugitive
warrants.
*A deputy made the
rounds of the 1300 block of
Golf Club Drive at 2:13 p.m.
*At 2:48 p.m. a motorist
on E. Watkins Street and S.
Redwood Hwy. was warned
for expired registration and
defective equipment because
the passenger tail light was
not working.
*A deputy was given
information at 2:57 p.m. in
the 300 block of N. Sawyer
Avenue.
*The driver of a gray
vehicle failed to yield to law
enforcement while driving
near Caves Avenue, Lister
Street, E. River Street, and
Junction Avenue at 3:14 p.m.
He was cited for failure to
obey traffic control device,
failure to signal for a turn,
failure to respond to an
emergency vehicle, and
warned for uninsured driving
and open container.
