* There were 15 logged entries for
today.
Wednesday, March 30
*The driver of the disabled vehicle on
Redwood Hwy. at Briggs Valley Road had
help on the way at 1 p.m.
*At 2:25 p.m., there was a 911-call in
the area of Illinois Valley High School. Noth-
ing was heard but rustling, and it sounded like
the phone was in a backpack. There were no
sounds of disturbance.
*Another pocket-dial came in from the
1200 block of Illinois River Road at 3:41 p.m.
*A mother and son were nearly hit
by a rusty black car at S. Old Stage Road
and Caves Hwy. at 6:17 p.m. The older 90s
compact car, possibly a Honda, was heading
towards Takilma after it swerved at them.

*Incidents logged equals 23.
Thursday, March 31
*A man stated he served small claims
paperwork on someone’s mother-in-law in
the 200 block of Shadowbrook Drive. That
apparently didn’t go over well, because he
received a threatening phone call, and so did
his mother in California.
*At 7:30 a.m. an aggressive guy in a
dark blue, newer Chevy pickup flew into a
parking lot in the 100 block of Deer Creek
Road at 80 m.p.h. He accused the driver of
a silver Dodge Ram 500 of hitting his car
earlier in the week. The Chevy driver was
covered in tattoos, including on his eyelids.
(That must have hurt!) The Ram driver was
just passing through and not even in the area
that week, but he supplied his driver’s license
and vehicle information to the tattooed tor-
mentor anyway.
*A vehicle was found in the Tarter
Gulch area, up the Bureau of Land Manage-
ment (BLM) forest road at 11:15 a.m. The
auto was buried and covered with branches,
with a sign on it that said “Do not touch.”
*An alert citizen reported a vehicle with
the steering column ignition punched out in
the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy. at 12:56
p.m.
*A lady was parked in the U.S. Post
Office parking lot in Selma to do some shop-
ping. When she returned at 4:09 p.m., she
noticed the rear bumper on the driver’s side
had severe damage estimated at $2,000. Who-
ever hit the car did not bother to leave a note,
so she reported the incident to Department of
Motor Vehicles and her insurance company.

*There were 25 log listings.
Friday, April 1
*No fooling! There were only 3 logged
incidents for Illinois Valley today.
*The driver of a green Chevy Trailblazer
was cleared with a warning for not having
any license plates in the 18400 block of Red-
wood Hwy. at 9:32 a.m.
*A suspicious incident involving a juve-
nile happened at 12:21 p.m. at W. River Street
and N. Redwood Hwy.
*A very loud explosion with a large
column of smoke was observed on Madrona
Drive at 1:16 p.m. That’s what happens when
an open burn is fired up using too much
gasoline.
Outside the Valley
*There were 21 incidents.
Saturday, April 2
*At 12:11 a.m., a woman with a bleed-
ing nose said she had been assaulted while
walking on Old Stage Road by people in a
white compact car, perhaps a Honda. She had
no information on the suspects.
There were several vehicle traffic stops.
(Apparently folks weren’t expecting law
enforcement presence at this hour.)
*A warning was given to a driver on
Redwood Hwy. at Airport Drive at 12:14 a.m.
*The driver of a green Ranger was also
warned on Redwood Hwy. at Waldo Road at
12:17 a.m.
*Whoever was stopped at 12:21 a.m. at
409 S. Redwood Hwy. passed inspection.
*Another driver at Redwood Hwy. at
Pinewood Way got off with a warning at
12:22 a.m.
*Curtis Carico, 23, was arrested and
detained at Josephine County Jail at 2:24 a.m.
Carico was charged with attempting to elude,
and felony reckless driving on Redwood
Hwy. at Brown Road.
*A driver on Hwy. 199 at Watkins Street
was warned for defective equipment because
the right front headlight was out at 12:35 a.m.
*The driver of a white Honda was also
warned for inoperative headlight at S. Old
Stage Road and Noah’s Way at 12:42 a.m.
*More vehicle stops at Lurline Lane and
Laurel Road at 1:01 a.m., and River Street
and Shadowbrook Drive at 1:14 a.m.
*The purse belonging to a recent as-
sault victim was found near the Sportsman
Tavern at 1:16 a.m. The guy that dropped
off the purse had not been in a fight, and the
purse was not dusty and showed no signs
of scrapes. No one had gone through the
contents. The woman had been drinking, so
she may have been jumped or she may have
fallen down.
*Another traffic stop at 1:18 a.m. at
S. Redwood Hwy. and W. Watkins Street
resulted in a warning.
*JCSO assisted Oregon State Police
(OSP) in the pursuit of a lead-foot driving
120 m.p.h. on Sauers Flat. Spike strips were
set out on Hwy. 199 by Glendon Road, caus-
ing heavy sparks and a foot bail at E. River
Street. The passenger was in custody at 1:51
a.m.
*A driver with a license from Mexico
was warned for failure to maintain lane at 220
S. Redwood Hwy. at 1:25 a.m.
*Another driver was warned at 1:32 a.m.
at 112 S. Redwood Hwy.
*All those stops finally paid off at 1:57
a.m. in the 200 block of Old Stage Road.
Ronald Scott Webb, 49, was arrested on a
Los Angeles Police Department warrant for
assault with deadly weapon. He is detained
pending extradition on $1,070,000 bail.
*A dangerous, angry person was send-
ing threatening messages to his 82-year-old
father, his aunt and his older half-brother. The
menacing couch-surfer needed to be warned
and trespassed from property in the 10500
block of Redwood Hwy.
*At 12:25 p.m. there was a 911-hangup
call from the 200 block of N. Sawyer Avenue.
*The 911 call at 3:11 p.m. was a false
alarm and everyone was safe in the 4300
block of Dick George Road.
*An SOS alarm rang at 6:10 p.m. in the
200 block of S. Old Stage Road.
Outside the Valley
*Eleven incidents were recorded.
Sunday, April 3
* An employee in the 200 block of W.
Watkins Street reported a very belligerent
trespasser at 12:31 p.m. Sarah Ivory Jentzch,
25, was in custody for second-degree trespass
at 2:07 p.m.
*There was a dangerous situation on
Airport Drive because the current is very
high, even for adults to swim. Eight teenagers
wearing swim trunks were having a drinking
party at 5:23 p.m. The 21-year-old registered
owner of the yellow sedan was made to pour
out the case of alcohol and all parties were
warned of underage drinking (Alcohol abuse.)
*At 5:25 p.m. there was a large group of
30 kids and adults who were spray-painting
the awning at Jubilee Park in response to the
death of Trevor. The area was recently re-
painted following a prior act of graffiti. Cody
Parsons, 26, and Travis Bohn, 28, were both
arrested for second-degree criminal trespass.
They were cited to appear in May. (They like
to paint? Fine, hand them brushes and let
them re-paint the whole town the right way.)
