Monday, July 21
*Close to 11 a.m. in the vicin-
ity of Shadowbrook Drive and
Sanger Lane a motorist not identi-
fied in the log (NIL) was cited on a
charge of failure to wear a seatbelt,
and warned for failure to use a turn
signal.
*On Merlot Drive a deputy
had two contacts regarding viola-
tion of a valid court order (VCO).
And there was a VCO contact on
Gamay Drive.
*At the end of Sawyer Av-
enue someone (NIL) was cited on a
charge of driving while suspended
(DWS), and taken to the Josephine
County Jail in Grants Pass due to
nonspecified warrants. Plus he (?)
was warned for having a cracked
windshield and warned about the
impound ordinance. A reference of
“color blue” probably refers to the
vehicle and not the arrestee.
*Two children, one 1-year-old
and one 3, were removed by the
Dept. of Human Services (DHS)
with deputy assistance on Pinewood
Way.
Outside the Valley
*Among six calls were those
involving a dirt salesman who had
a rough time with a client who
claimed that the product was full
of bugs and harming his marijuana
sales, and one from Coyote Creek
Road from someone who said that
they saw three teen-agers the night
before burglarizing a home for sale,
taking items including 1,500 DVDs.
Tuesday, July 22
*Oregon Dept. of Transporta-
tion reported at 9:09 a.m. that a
“Stop” sign was down at e. River
Street and Laurel Road.
*For a reason not explained, a
deputy contacted the Illinois Valley
Fire District (IVFD).
*Jubilee Park was patrolled
at 10:16 a.m. And a motorist (NIL)
there was cited on charges of no
seat belt and no insurance, and
warned about not having a driver’s
license and the impound ordinance.
*A resident in the 5000 block
of Holland Loop reported that
fencing and a gate were damaged
by a hit-and-run driver. (Based on
the damage he must have had his
engine cranked up).
*Some 2 miles up Illinois
River Road, said a man, he left
a bag unattended while he was
swimming. Some creep snagged the
bag, which was said to contain the
complainant’s clothing and a wallet
containing 10 bucks, goggles, credit
cards and his Social Security card.
(Guess he had to drive home in his
bathing suit).
*Something happened in the
6300 block of Deer Creek Road.
*Forks State Park was pa-
trolled.
*Jubilee Park was patrolled at
11:55 a.m.
*At a minute past noon a
deputy went to Shop Smart Food
Warehouse (lunch?).
*Two dogs running loose on
Lister Street were picked up by a
deputy and taken to the I.V. Substa-
tion.
*Two traffic stops (NIL) were
made on Junction Avenue. One was
to warn someone about a defective
brake light; the other for expired
license tags and no mud flaps.
*Also on Junction Avenue
and on Caves Avenue some people
(NIL) were advised about VCOs.
*A motorist (NIL) was warned
at Watkins Street and Junction Av-
enue about failure to obey a traffic
control device.
Outside the Valley
*Would you believe 25 calls?
One involved a woman, who drove
away without buying anything or
identifying herself, after she drove
into the Wolf Creek Store, damag-
ing a wall and a window.
Wednesday, July 23
*The Dept. of Oregon State
Police (OSP) was asked at 8:11
a.m. to respond to the 400 block of
Old Stage Road in connection with
a dead body. There was no further
information.
*Daniel Martinson, 44, wanted
in connection with the November
2012 murder of Aaron Lee Clouser,
39, was captured around 9:30 a.m.
after someone recognized him as
he was carrying a box of food near
Jubilee Park. He was nearly naked,
as it is reported that “Martinson
appeared to be wearing a piece of
cloth around his waist and branches
around his head at the time of the
arrest.” He said that “he wanted to
turn himself in.”
*DHS received deputy assis-
tance at the south end of Cave Junc-
tion in a keep-the-peace situation.
*A deputy went to Shop Smart
at 11:47 a.m. No reason listed.
*Jubilee Park was patrolled at
12:50 p.m.
*Someone (NIL) was “in cus-
tody” and taken from the Junction
Inn related to “a detainer” from a
probation officer.
Outside the Valley
*Nineteen calls were logged.
Thursday, July 24
the residents, she said, “F... you,”
and left. The people said that they
discovered $2,000 worth of damage
to their car.
*At Caves Hwy. and Frederick
Court a motorist (NIL) was warned
about expired registration tags.
*Those people in Selma had
another run-in with the cursing
woman in black, with the complain-
ant totally denying her accusation to
a deputy that they had an affair.
*While driving home after
midnight, said someone (NIL), they
crashed into another vehicle near
Jubilee Park because, according to
the complaint, the other vehicle was
stopped abruptly and had neither
running lights nor brake lights.
(Clue: Be alert).

*The log lists 13 calls.
Friday, July 25
*When people returned to their
vehicle “parked well off Illinois
River Road” while they went swim-
ming, they discovered that someone
had struck their rear, but left no
note. (Hit-and-run persons must
be a huge disappointment to their
parents.)
*“Huge marijuana grows”
were reported by a man in O’Brien.
He added that he is bothered by
weapons being shot from the areas.
*Several incidents of being
“egged” were noted on Gamay
Drive. (A waste of eggs and diffi-
cult to clean).
*Trespassing by a family
member was reported by her rela-
tives in Kerby.
*While “swimming at the end
of Old Stage Road,” said a man
(presumably in the east fork of the
Illinois River), he and his wife were
hassled by a group of five people
with a baby. They demanded that
they leave or they’d pee on their
clothing and report them as sex
offenders. (Where do these people
come from?)
*Harassment was reported by
one man coming from another man
in O’Brien. He was going to get a
restraining order.
*Extremely amplified music
was the basis of two complaints
from the 9000 block of Takilma
Road.
Outside the Valley
*For various reasons 16 calls
were received.
*On foot, a deputy patrolled
Jubilee Park for approximately 11
minutes beginning at 11:37 a.m.,
and drove through at 2:12 p.m.
*There was an alarm on e.
Watkins Street at nine minutes past
noon, but no details were provided.
*A tenant in Selma was wor-
ried that her landlord would tow her
fifth-wheel rig, as she was having
trouble meeting the eviction notice
deadline.
*People in Selma reported that
somewhere around 11 p.m. they dis-
covered on their property a woman
dressed in black. Confronted by
Monday, July 28
*An e. River Street property
owner complained that a tenant
won’t stay evicted and damaged her
gate. Then he left “with both of his
belongings.”
*Siskiyou Medical Center
reported a man “refusing to leave
until he gets help ... keeps pointing
at his nose saying he is an Indian.”
He left before a deputy could arrive.
*Shortly prior to 10 a.m. a
deputy patrolled Jubilee Park afoot.
*A few minutes later at a
nearby location a man was found to

not be a danger to himself.
*Deer Creek Park was pa-
trolled.
*Sometimes aggressive tres-
passers involving a family member
were reported from S. Old Stage
Road.
*While at the Store Gulch
campground out Illinois River
Road, said a man, someone took his
backpack, which contained a lot of
stuff.
*Some idiots removed sprin-
kler heads from the Lorna Byrne
Middle School track lawn on S.
Junction Avenue.
*After his expensive camera
was stolen from his car while he
was at Forks State Park, a Medford-
area man offered a $150 reward for
its return.
*In Kerby a possibly mental
man refused transport after medical
personnel said it didn’t seem that he
was a threat.
*From the 27000 block of
Redwood Hwy. a complainant
decried someone posting partially
nude photos of said complainant on
social media. The “suspect is the
complainant’s boyfriend’s ex-girl-
friend.”
*Following an intruder alarm
on Millie Street the place was se-
cured by a neighbor.

*Sixteen calls received.
Tuesday, July 29
*There was a fairly good-sized
wildfire in Selma. A road closure
was in effect: Reeves Creek Road
from Redwood Hwy. to Southshore
Drive. A Level 1 evacuation notice
was in effect for the Wild Park Lane
area. Oregon Dept. of Forestry was
the primary agency for the fire;
structural protection was being
handled by IVFD, Rural/Metro Fire
Dept. and Grants Pass Fire/Rescue.
*A 91-year-old woman on W.
River Street said she hopes that
continual “egging” will stop, as it’s
a lot of work for her.
*Behind the CJ 76 a motorist
(NIL) was warned about expired
tags.
*Jubilee Park was patrolled.
*Trespassers who peered in
his windows at 3 a.m. were reported
by a resident in the 6500 block of
Rockydale Road.

*There were a bunch of calls;
the writer lost count.
Wednesday, July 30
*Something might have hap-
pened on Schumacher Street, and
that was followed by foot patrol at
Jubilee Park.
*Two people having an argu-
ment on S. Junction Avenue near
Caves Avenue were contacted by a
deputy.
*Near My Place Cafe a motor-
ist (NIL) was advised against speed-
ing.
*A runaway person (NIL) was
taken into custody at Jubilee Park.
*In Selma an unfortunate
woman with mental problems
thought that she was being kid-
napped. Her care-taker was going to
return her to the Seattle area.
*American Medical Response
(AMR) medics were assisted by a
deputy after a call for medical help
from Shop Smart.
*Forks State Park was pa-
trolled.
*Someone went to the I.V.
Substation to speak with a deputy.
*AMR medics were assisted
by a deputy after a call for medical
help from e. River Street.
*A swerving driver was re-
ported headed up Caves Hwy. from
Redwood Hwy. An OSP trooper was
notified.

*Another 16 calls.
Thursday, July 31
*Notification was made on
Wells Drive about a VCO.
*A deputy drove through Jubi-
lee Park at 12:41 and 2:20 p.m.
*It was reported that 25 Boy
Scouts were camping out Caves
Hwy. and that someone stole 12-14
of their backpacks.
*Unlawful use of a motor ve-
hicle by her boyfriend was reported
by a woman on Dogwood Lane.
*Following a fender-bender
on the CJ Post Office parking lot a
woman was upset because the driver
of the other car, a man, was yelling
at her. He eventually apologized,
saying that the last two people who
ran into him didn’t have insurance.
Dispatch handled the situation.
*The Thompson Creek Road
area was patrolled.

*Nineteen, count ‘em, 19 calls.
Friday, Aug. 1
*A patrol car was driven
through Jubilee Park at 9:46 a.m.
*Someone (NIL) was contact-
ed by a deputy near SOFCU.
*Danny Brand, 37, was arrest-
ed in CJ under a Douglas County
warrant charging contempt of court
on an original charge of DWS. He
also was cited on a charge of DWS
and for not wearing a seat belt.
Brand’s car was impounded, and he
was given a ride to the JoCo jail.
*There was a VCO contact at
Shadowbrook Drive and e. River
Street.
*Two vehicles were hauled
away by Jerry’s Towing after a re-
ported noninjury crash at Redwood
Hwy. and Lister Street. The drivers
were NIL.
*At Forks State Park a motor-
ist (NIL) was warned about failure
to maintain lane.
*Help was on the way to
Reeves Creek Road, maybe for a
stuck vehicle.
*Theft of a camp trailer from
Ollis Road was reported.
