Wednesday, March 30
* Witnesses said a gray
van with blue stripes hit an
unoccupied parked vehicle
and dragged it several feet in
the Shop Smart parking lot,
extensively damaging the
driver’s side and rendering it
inoperable. The woman driver
apparently had children in the
van as she taught them Bumper
Cars 101 before driving away
without leaving her name
or insurance information.
Fortunately, alert witnesses did
get the van’s license number:
(Oregon plates) #578DMQ.
* Loud music from the
400 block of Brittany was
shaking the windows in a house
on Addison Lane at 11:29 a.m.
and again at 9:11 p.m.
Thursday, March 31
* Animals apparently
set off alarms at I.V. Building
Supply again at 1:38 a.m.
* Dogs were let loose
from their leash and kennel in
the 800 block of Three Mill
Road and the dogs’ owner
believes the neighbors are
involved.
* An older orange and
white Volkswagon van was
driving slowly through the
SOFCU parking lot and
witnesses said it appeared to
be “casing” the bank at 3 p.m.
* Property line disputes,
like the un-shared driveway in
the 1400 block of Lakeshore
Drive, are civil in nature.
* At the Secret Trailer
Park on Caves Hwy., another
easement argument ended
with a woman punching her
neighbor in the face, splitting
his lip.
* Another call from the
man on Caves Hwy. who did
not have a crime to report;
insead, he wanted officers to
come to his house because he
couldn’t get his drivers license.
He was advised to call DMV
during working hours.
* Three “kids” entered a
home in the 900 block of Caves
Hwy. without permission and
were caught partying there by
the house sitter.
Friday, April 1
*
Charles

Brooks, 63, was booked into
the Josephine County Jail on
a warrant for failure to appear
on second-degree trespassing
charges.
* Finding the front door
wide open after being out of
town didn’t seem like an issue
until a woman on Schumacher
realized that two checkbooks
from her new bank account
were missing.
* The horse reported
loose on O’Brien Road near
Hwy. 199 apparently galloped
off into the sunset at 6:40 p.m.
Saturday, April 2
* A nine-year old boy
called 911 to say that he was
sad the people took the money.
The lad was talking about
a program that was cut for
children with special needs
that he couldn’t participate in
anymore, according to his aunt
and grandmother. He wanted
law enforcement to arrest the
people responsible for cutting
his respite program.
* Too many text messages
are not a 911 emergency, but
the tireless texter was contacted
and warned about telephonic
harassment.
* A man was pulling

11 p.m., and it looked like
he may have been getting it
open. When the building was
checked, it appeared secure.
The left side of the glass doors
was shattered, along with
several broken windows in the
building, but it appeared to be
old damage.
Sunday, April 3
* An irate woman near
West Palmer and Kerby Streets
complained of intoxicated
people yelling at 2:30 in the
morning, and when she asked
them to quiet down, they
laughed at her. When dispatch
told her there were no units in
the area, she said she would
just open her door and place
herself in some kind of danger
so law enforcement would
respond and take care of the
noise.
* Loud music was
shaking the house in the 400
block of Addison Lane at 2:21
p.m.
* A teenager at I.V. High
School claimed to be defending
his sister when he punched a
schoolmate several times.
* No suspect information
is available regarding who stole
a John Deere utility vehicle
from a shop in the 1200 block
of Waldo Road, but the owner
did locate and retrieve his
vehicle.
Monday, April 4
* The driver during a
traffic stop in the 1000 block of
Deer Creek Road first gave his
name as David Robert Guggo,
then Huggo, then Hutto. He
was cited for furnishing false
information, no insurance, no
OPS and failure to register his
vehicle, which had tags that
expired in 1985.
* A man on Caves Ave.
needed his neighbors to phone
the sheriff because he had
a problem with his driver’s
license.
* A green Datsun with
expired tags was broken
down with a dead battery at
the intersection of Queen of
Bronze and Happy Camp
Roads for 1.5 hours.
* The Department of
Senior Services was notified of
a man in the 700 block of Caves
Hwy. who was still requesting
that a deputy take him to the
DMV to get his license.
Tuesday, April 5
* It appeared that
unknown suspects assaulted
Donald Glen Dabel, 24, after
he was involved in several
physical altercations at a
party on Forest Creek Road.
They then placed Dabel into
a vehicle, which they tried to
push into Lake Selmac just
past the spillway. Dabel’s story
of how he received his injuries
kept changing, but the vehicle
was off the embankment and a
hazard tow was needed due to
hazardous materials going into
the lake. Dabel was arrested on
two charges of second-degree
mischief and a probation
violation detainer.
* Now that poor man on
Caves Hwy. needs help from
the sheriff’s office because his
insurance company won’t sell
him insurance on his truck. He
does have enough wood and
food at this time.
* Although a man in
the 900 block of Caves Hwy.
reported that someone stole his
John Deere backhoe, it was
deemed unfounded as a crime.
* Staggering from the
bushes by the LBMS track was
an intoxicated man, carrying
a can of beer, wobbling, and
making gestures like he was
talking to someone, but no one
was around. It was 11:40 a.m.
* A lady thought she
had been scammed regarding
a vehicle “for free.” The car
had no license plates and there
were two insurance companies
involved.
* Gerald Donald Massey,
70, stated that he swerved to
avoid a deer and got stuck in
the ditch. Witnesses reported
that his maroon/tan 1991 Ford
Explorer crashed into the bank
on Lone Mountain Road three
different times.
* Six people were arguing
over who owned a puppy on
the corner of Hwy. 199 and
Caves Hwy.
* The woman complaining
about loud music in the 9000
block of Takilma Road at 3:52
p.m. was advised of the noise
ordinance and told to call if the
noise continued past 10 p.m.
* Sonya Marie Orozco,
59, was booked at the JoCo Jail
for warrants from the Medford
and Jackson county sheriff’s
offices for second-degree theft,
fraud and identity theft.
* At 10:10 p.m., the
sheriff’s office received a
noise complaint about very
loud music heard in the area of
Madrone and Dogwood Lane.
Wednesday, April 6
* Just after midnight a
dark color, two-door, low-
sitting sedan sports car with a
loud muffler with a “tanked”
driver was heading westbound
on Caves Hwy. towards C.J.
* People on W. Stevenson
filled their vehicle with $55
worth of gas on April 5, and
when the husband got to
work, the gas tank was on
empty. They believe someone
siphoned 12 gallons of gas.
* There was a red Dodge
Ram pickup on its side in the
100 block of Pine Tree Way,
but it may not have been a
crash since the truck appeared
to be chained to a tree.
* Kenneth Lyle Snook,
20, was in custody from the
29000 block of Redwood
Hwy. and charged with first
degree rape, fourth degree
felony domestic, coercion,
strangulation and menacing.
* Was it normal horseplay,
or did someone really offer
two pounds of marijuana for
anyone to beat up a guy on
Schumacher?
* A dark-colored truck
could be seen with its headlights
on in the ditch at Lakeshore
Drive and Reeves Creek Road
just before midnight. No driver
was identified.
Thursday, April 7
* Bradon C. Jones, 31,
was arrested on a Grants Pass
warrant charging probation
violation/criminal
mischief
and harassment. Jones was
also arrested for failure to
report as a sex offender after a
friend mentioned he saw Jones
on a website for being out-of-
compliance.
* Jo Anne Bellah, 49,
was booked at the jail for a
probation violation at 9:20
p.m. after a traffic stop in the
1000 block of Laurel Road.
* The “Elf Hunter” was
trying to pick a fight with
the “Sasquatch Slayer” at the
Bigfoot Tavern in Kerby at
9:30 p.m.
Friday, April 8
* A quad was heard at 1:19
a.m., then again at 3:17 a.m. in
the 2000 block of Deer Creek
Road, and it didn’t sound the
same as the neighbor’s quad.
