was reported that someone in

CJ Dairy Queen.

assing phone calls from her

about telephone harassment.
*An agitated woman was
said to be hopping in and out

uncooperative with a deputy,
she was determined to be not
a danger to herself.

ett, 22, was cited on a charge

kins Street in Downtown
Cave Junction, Doreen Lee
Miller, 36, subsequently was
lodged in Josephine County
Jail in Grants Pass on war-
rants charging failure to ap-
pear (FTA) on original
charges of driving under the
influence of an intoxicant
(DUII) and fourth-degree
assault/menacing.
*A Takilma Road resi-
dent said that a suspicious
vehicle had backed into her
long driveway at 9:28 p.m.
They left while she was with
the call taker.
*Someone reported hear-
ing someone else call for help
in the vicinity of S. Kerby
Avenue at 10:30 p.m.
*A child was reportedly
bitten on the head by a dog in
the 300 block of Caves Hwy.
Friday, July 23
*At 2:13 a.m. a resident
on W. River Street stated that
a man with a baseball bat was
hitting objects in her yard.
*Theft of items including
two purses and a wallet from
a locked vehicle at Six Mile
campground was reported.
*A dog-owner was
warned for having his pet off-
leash after an officer pepper-
sprayed the animal near
Rough and Ready Creek.
*Kendall Ruskin Houck,
56, was cited on a charge of
speeding (57 mph in a 45
mph zone) and warned for
lacking current proof of insur-
ance on N. Redwood Hwy. at
6:09 p.m.
*Donald David Ratzlaff,
48, was cited on a charge of
speeding (60 mph in a 45
mph zone) on N. Redwood
Hwy. at 6:33 p.m.
*At the 18-mile marker
on Redwood Hwy., Thomas
Bill Nelson, 74, was cited on
a charge of speeding (72 mph
in a 55 mph zone).

*A caller from Crest
Drive reported hearing a man
and woman yelling at one
another, and a gunshot, at
9:18 p.m.

charges of DUII and refusing
a breath test. His vehicle was
impounded.
*Kenneth Russell Davis,
24, was taken into custody by

Hwy. at 11:44 p.m.
Saturday, July 24
*A “large group” of
noisy individuals in Down-
town Cave Junction were said
to have disturbed a caller’s
sleep at 2:25 a.m.
*After a report of an as-
sault on W. Watkins Street at
2:31 a.m., an investigation
determined that both parties
had been injured. A report
was referred to the district
attorney’s office.
*Gabriel Charles Cano,
27, was cited on charges of
no operator’s permit, no in-
surance and warning for
unlawful cell phone use on
Watkins Street at 10:43 a.m.
*Stopped for expired
registration on Caves Hwy. at
Junction Avenue, Kevin Leon
Blessing, 46, was cited on
charges of no operator permit,
no insurance and expired reg-
istration.
*Kevin Joseph Hoover,
55, was cited on charges of
DWS and driving uninsured.
He denied owning the vehicle
he’d been driving, stating, “I
found it and was driving it.”
The vehicle was impounded.
*Robert Warren Denis,
55, was cited on a charge of
VBR on N. Redwood Hwy.
at 12:55 p.m.
*Dozens of illegal park-
ing citations were left for
drivers whose vehicles were
in prohibited places along
Illinois River Road.
*A business owner in
Kerby asked that a man be
“trespassed” from her shop
due to his “foul language and
belligerent behavior.”
*In Kerby a caller stated
that a woman was upset be-
cause he drove past her resi-
dence, so she turned a hose
on him and then threw rocks
at his car, causing damage.
Subsequently, Debbie Lynn
Smarr, 44, was cited on a
charge of third-degree crimi-
nal mischief.
*Daniel Kenneth
Richardson, 40, was cited on
a charge of speeding (64 mph
in a 45 mph zone) on N. Red-
wood Hwy. at 9:18 p.m.
*An Arrowhead Drive
caller reported a dispute with
a neighbor about use of her
gate. It was determined that
the gate was illegally block-
ing a county easement.
*After contacting a large

*An argument between a
man and woman was reported
at 1:29 a.m. on Caves Hwy. at
Redwood Hwy. A deputy
was unable to locate either
party.
*Dip D. Mulch, 48, was
cited on a charge of speeding
(70 mph in a 55 mph zone) in
the 23000 block of Redwood
Hwy. at 12:12 p.m.
*A Caves Hwy. resident
complained about telephonic
harassment by a woman
whom he said was threaten-
ing suicide.
*Michael Raymond
Popow, 52, was cited on a
charge of speeding (84 mph
in a 55 mph zone) in the
30000 block of Redwood
Hwy. at 1:42 p.m.
*Citations for illegal
parking were left for some
vehicle owners on Illinois
River Road today.
*Theft of a bottle of bour-
bon from a Cave Junction bar
was noted at 4:21 p.m.
*Jake Marcel Edward
Dionne, 20, was cited on a
charge of PCS marijuana at
milepst 34 on Redwood Hwy.
*A wallet containing
credit cards, a driver license
and a Duke University ID
was found at Sam Brown
Campground.
Monday, July 26
*A complainant stated
that his parents allowed some
people passing themselves off
as “appraisers” to enter their
home. The caller was con-
cerned that the people in
question were casing the area.
*A report for third-
degree criminal mischief was
pending after a caller on
Kerby Street reported damage
to a fence and barbecue, and
strewn garbage.
*Cameron Roger Dailey,
42, was cited on a warrant
charging probation violation/
dangerous drugs after the
Rogue Area Drug Eradication
team paid a visit to his
Takilma Road residence.
*Someone reported theft
of items including a car ste-
reo, speakers and wallets
from a vehicle parked out
Illinois River Road at
McCaleb Ranch Scout Camp.
*Rodney Blake Sanders,
45, was cited on a charge of
no operator’s permit on Red-
wood Hwy. at Laurel Road at
3:24 p.m.
*Motives were unclear in
the case of a vehicle allegedly
stolen from a Caves Hwy.
location for the purpose of
either a beer run or quick trip
home. In any event, neither
the small, gray, two-door or
the people believed to have
taken it were located.
*It was requested that a
deputy contact some “bums”
said to be hanging out and
drinking on a vacant lot on S.
Redwood Hwy. and tell them
to move on.
*Jade Charleton Yandell,
20, was lodged in county jail
on a probation officer’s de-
tainer and a charge of resist-
ing arrest following a loud
disturbance on S. Junction
Avenue reported at 8:44 p.m.
Tuesday, July 27
*Due to reports of speed-
ing vehicles on Lone Moun-
tain Road, a deputy provided
extra patrol to the area begin-
ning at 6:32 a.m.
*Constance Ellen Hicks,
53, was cited on a charge of
VBR at 7:50 a.m. on Red-
wood Hwy. at Lone Moun-
tain Road.
*Mark Eugene Kundert,
54, was cited on a charge of
VBR at 9:08 a.m. on Red-
wood Hwy. in the 29000
block.
*Valley deputies were
asked to be on the alert for
three Hispanic youths, report-
edly affiliated with a Napa
Valley gang, who left Bar-O
Boys Camp in Gasquet, Calif.
without authorization.
*Frozen food was re-
ported stolen from a freezer
outside a business in Selma.
What remained was ruined,
the caller said, because the
thief left the door ajar.
