Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Tuesday, June 22 *A caller reported that transient persons were camp- ing on St. Mathias Episcopal Church property and smoking marijuana. They moved on when asked to do so. *On a BLM road off Kerby Mainline Road, a sto- len vehicle was recovered. *From rural Cave Junc- tion came a complaint that a threatening letter was ad- dressed to her husband. Wednesday, June 23 *A Draper Valley Road resident reported theft of four medical marijuana plants from a fenced garden. *In Kerby a resident complained that people keep parking in front of his trailer and that they attempted to steal his dog. *An Illinois Valley resi- dent reported that someone had sent a “derogatory, threatening letter” to another individual and signed the complainant’s name. *A man reported receipt of a threatening letter from a woman who says that some- one else sent it. *In the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy., April Ann Biel Warwick, 21, was cited on a charge of speeding (64 mph in a 45 mph zone). *A driver who was stopped alongside Laurel Road was contacted. She was eating ice cream, and left when she finished. (The fla- vor was not provided.) *Dillon Duke Scott, 22, was cited on a charge of driv- ing with a suspended license (DWS) on S. Junction Ave- nue at 9:21 p.m. *On Finch Road it was reported that a woman was causing a disturbance outside a man’s home because he refused to let her inside. She said that she would leave. Thursday, June 24 *Some sort of green sub- stance had been sprayed on her vehicles, said a W. River Street resident. She took pho- tos and provided suspect in- formation. *Two people were cited on federal charges of insuffi- cient number of life vests and failure to heed a road closure out Illinois River Road near McCaleb Ranch Boy Scout Camp. *From Jubilee Park a caller reported what he said sounded like a bullet whiz past his head and strike some- thing near the ball field. *On N. Sawyer Avenue a resident reported that some- one had thrown a green, paint-like substance on his red 1949 Cadillac. *In Selma a man pushing a mountain bike and acting confused was sporting evi- dence of a fresh fall. Ameri- can Medical Response was called to assist. *James Steven Towe, 34, was cited on a charge of DWS on Redwood Hwy. at Finch Road at 6:45 p.m. His vehicle was impounded. *At 8:06 p.m. a car was found parked in the middle of Westside Road. The ignition had been punched. A tow truck was called to remove the road hazard. *A Downtown Cave Junction business owner re- ported that someone had tex- ted him to say his shop had been robbed. It turned out to be a “prank.” *Yelling and loud music were complained about on N. Hussey Avenue at 11:58 p.m. Friday, June 25 *In Selma a woman re- ported seeing someone shoot her cat’s face and shoulder. *Someone broke a win- dow at Immanuel United Methodist Church causing some $300 damage. And they took a $10 vase from the church Nifty Gifty shop. *A driver fled his vehicle on S. Old Stage Road before a deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver was known to have a suspended license. The contents of the unoccu- pied car were photographed, and a knife and .22 magazine taken for safe-keeping. *Someone cut a hole in a shed near the Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance building and stole some paint, which they poured around the area. *Loud music (possibly a band) connected with a large gathering at the Sam Brown Campground day-use area out Taylor Creek Road in rural Grants Pass was complained about. The situation was to be monitored. *A larger-than-pickup size pile of garbage was found dumped out Thompson Creek Road. *In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. a caller stated that his estranged wife’s son, with whom he is not permit- ted contact, was on his prop- erty. He wanted the man “trespassed.” *Just after 10 p.m. a caller complained that some- one on Lone Mountain Road was using a chainsaw, which kept her awake. Also, they had a burn pile, she said. Saturday, June 26 *There was a complaint that someone came onto a woman’s property, got into her daughter’s car and drove through the complainant’s flower beds. *Bondon Prayer Spann, 29, was cited at Sam Brown Campground on a charge of using a U.S. Forest Service resource without a permit. *Following investigation in the 300 block of Kerby Street , Ryan Keith Hutchison 23, was cited on charges of second-degree assault and criminal trespassing and lodged in Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass. *Theft of approximately $55 worth of gasoline from the Cave Junction 76 station was reported. The vehicle, a two-tone blue Ford Aerostar, was reported stolen from Crescent City. Calif. on Thursday, June 24. *Matthew John Stone, 27, was cited on a charge of failure to obey a traffic con- trol device on W. River Street at 9:20 p.m. *A white pickup truck was said to be “high- centered” off the roadway beyond a barricade on Illinois River Road. Sunday, June 27 *Just after midnight, Jesse James Lohmeier, date of birth not listed, was cited on two charges of failure to maintain a safe distance from an emergency vehicle and no operator’s permit. *On Forest Creek Road a man reported being assaulted. He said that two men in a white pickup truck came alongside his vehicle and told him that he was leaking fuel. When he stopped to check, they got out of their vehicle and attacked him, he said. *A Cave Junction busi- ness owner reported that he’d continued to receive threaten- ing text messages. *Someone removed ply- wood from windows of a structure in the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy., and stole a chair and propane heater. *An illegally parked ve- hicle on Illinois River Road was nearly towed away be- fore the owner returned. Bria G. Connolly, 18, was cited on a charge of illegal parking. *Todd L. Rich, 42, was cited on a charge of illegal parking at Six Mile Camp- ground. *On Naue Way a child, 5, was counseled regarding misuse of 911. *A Selma resident stated that harassing messages had been left on his voice mail. The caller was warned about telephonic harassment. *A large, black dog drag- ging a leash was seen linger- ing by itself at the edge of some nearby woods, a Dick George Road caller stated. He was concerned that someone might be lost in the woods. Monday, June 28 *Someone entered a locked shed at Illinois Valley High School and removed 12 cases of Snapple beverage. *A caller said that a man in a brown hoody sweatshirt was yelling at Jubilee Park. The caller was concerned for the safety of children there. *Some people were re- fusing to return her satellite TV equipment, a Rockydale Road resident stated. *A man said to be having family issues was reported threatening himself with a gun and knife in a Kerby neighborhood. He could not be located when a deputy went to check. *Following hubbub on S. Junction Avenue in which a woman reported her 20-year- old son to be “out of con- trol,” Jade Charleton Yandell was lodged in county jail on a charge of probation violation. Tuesday, June 29 *Folks running a fire- works stand on the parking lot at Shop Smart Food Ware- house advised just after mid- night that they’d been the subject of harassment by per- sons unknown. *A group of disorderly young people were said to be trying to steal hay from a trailer in Downtown Cave Junction at 1:27 a.m. *On Walters Drive a woman reported seeing a person’s silhouette on her wall. She shouted that she had a gun, and when she racked the shotgun, the per- son outside stumbled over something on her porch and left. *At around 1:30 a.m., a man said, some kids threw a rock through the window of a semitruck in Downtown CJ. *Callers complained that a man on Lone Mountain Road was falling trees and damaging neighboring prop- erties in the process. Also, a power line was damaged due to a fallen tree, they said. *All the windows of a home and related vehicle on S. Kerby Avenue were bro- ken by persons unidentified. *A man in a Kerby neighborhood said that he’d been attacked, resulting in a broken ankle. A deputy deter- mined that the injury was an unintentional consequence of the home owner attempting to remove an unwanted person from his residence. *All parties were advised of their options following a pushing and shoving match at a Honeybee Lane residence. *Deputies investigated a report of first-degree animal abuse on Three Mill Road. *Theft of a purse from a locked car at Six Mile Camp- ground was reported. *Somebody shot a trash- can and wooden cowboy on Warren Road, a caller said. *An alarm was heard at Lorna Bryne Middle School at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday, June 30 *A 2-year-old child on Dogwood Lane apparently was playing with a telephone at 2:53 p.m. *On Laurel Road a woman reported that the rear window of her residence had been broken and the home ransacked. Thursday, July 1 *Children were said to be throwing rocks at vehicles on Redwood Hwy. in Down- town CJ at 1:57 a.m. *People staying in a fire- works tent in Downtown CJ said that they could hear peo- ple outside throwing rocks.
