Organization (IVCDO) seeks a Program
Assistant for the Illinois Valley Business
Entrepreneurial Center (IVBEC) in Kerby.
Position will perform a variety of duties re-
lated to the IVBEC mission to strengthen
the economic base of the Illinois Valley and
requires 24-30 hours per week.
Pay range: $10 - $12 per hour.
Duties will include promotion of programs
and services; maintaining records, files, and
data bases; internet research; organizing
program events; and general assistance to
the Business Development Coordinator.

Summer Youth Employment Program
The Job Council has extended application dead-
lines for the summer youth program in Illinois
Valley, supported by the stimulus funds to create
summer employment opportunities for youth.
The Job Council is taking applications
through Thursday, June 25. Applications are
available at Illinois Valley News, I.V. Family
Coalition, and Illinois Valley Community Devel-
opment Organization, and the Job Council at
1545 Harbeck Road, Grants Pass or at
www.jobcouncil.org. The Job Council’s summer
program supports paid work experience opportu-
nities to eligible youth (14-24) for 20-30 hours
per week up to 8 weeks in the summer. Appli-
cants must meet eligibility criteria. Positions are
limited and not all applicants will be selected.
We are still looking for youth interested in for-
estry. The Job Council’s Summer Youth Employ-
ment Program seeks to match interest and skills
with summer worksite positions. Participants will
be responsible for arranging their own transpor-
tation to and from their worksites. For more in-
