Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Tuesday, March 10 *There was a complaint from SOFCU Community Credit Union about fraud after someone wrote a check on a closed account. Wednesday, March 11 *Theft of a pickup truck transmission from Phillips Auto Wrecking was reported. *When meeting her ex- husband at a school in Grants Pass, a woman said that as she sat for a meeting he pointed one of his middle fingers at her. *Loss of his wallet at a Cave Junction restaurant was reported by a man, who said it contained 50 bucks and identification cards. *On Finch Road there was a complaint that a drunken woman who for- merly lived at a residence showed up and ordered peo- ple off “her” property. She was “trespassed.” *Described as someone who “seems to be under the influence of something,” a man, 40, caused concern in Downtown Cave Junction. At one point he fell and stuck his head. He was given a ride home, and his bicycle was kept by store employees until his parents could get it. *Although told several times that they are “trespassed” from a CJ store, people identified as Jeremy Beck and Crystal Costa re- fused to leave. They did fi- nally get the message. *Theft of a man’s wallet from a vehicle on Thompson Creek Road was logged. *Jubilee Park was pa- trolled at 4:37 p.m. *In Downtown CJ a man was warned for not obeying a “Stop” sign. *Two people who had refused to leave a store earlier were contacted on Caves Hwy. and warned about tres- passing. They also were ad- vised that their dogs need licenses. *Shannon Marie Hewitt, 18, was cited into CJ Munici- pal Court at Caves Hwy. and Old Stage Road on charges of driving uninsured and not having a driver’s license. She was warned for speeding (45 in a 35 mph zone). *Gunshots louder than he’s heard previously from his target-shooting neighbors were reported by a resident in the 7000 block of Caves Hwy. at 3:36 p.m. *Benjamin E. Lemmon Jr., 33, was cited into CJ Muni Court on Caves Hwy. on a charge of speeding (48 in a 35 mph zone). *There was a call at 7:27 p.m. from a woman in the 5000 block of Holland Loop, who said she didn’t want an ambulance, but that she might be having a heart attack, so if she crashed her vehicle she wanted emergency personnel to know what happened. *Because he lacked proper lighting on his bicycle, a man, 46, was warned at Holland Loop and Takilma Road at 8:03 p.m. *Possible violation of a restraining order was com- plained about from the 7000 block of Takilma Road by a woman who said that she broke up with a man like seven months ago. He’s sent her 450 emails, she said. *“Transient bums” were said to be camping and party- ing in the Cave Junction Post Office at10:10 p.m. They left on request. They were identi- fied as Jeremy Beck, Crystal Costa and Bill Frasier. *At 10:46 a.m. a driver near a CJ bar was warned about using turn signals. *“Very loud music” and a woman screaming and yell- ing, with the possibility of a fight by several people on Terrace Heights Drive, were reported at 10:49 p.m. *Carlos Reyes, 38, was cited near milepost 19 of Redwood Hwy. on a charge of driving 79 mph in a 55 zone. Thursday, March 12 *There was a complaint from Laurel Road about a man who rides a quad on a paved road. *On a vacant lot next to Junction Inn, a man was warned for not having a busi- ness license. *Robert Walter Couick, 55, was cited in CJ under a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII). *Gregory James Roland Jr., 29, and Robert Charles Breakfield, 45, were “trespassed” from the former Valley Farm & Garden site at 5:02 p.m. *Three minutes later, at Redwood Hwy. and E. Wat- kins Street, Neil Francis White; and James Irvin Mu- tina, both 57, were warned about interfering with a pub- lic right-of-way. They moved on. *An attempt was made to contact a man in CJ, who is We think she’s pregnant… I’m not sure what to do… This is going to change my life! For Confidential Help, call the Pregnancy Center 592-6058 319 Caves Hwy., Cave Junction PregnancyCenterIV.org operating a tattoo shop with- out a license, according to the state health licensing board. *Near a Downtown CJ business at 5:39 p.m., a run- away boy, 15, was taken into custody and subsequently released to the custody of his mom. *At Caves Hwy. and Old Stage Road, Tiffany Ann Garland, 18, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of driving 48 mph in a 35 zone. *Steven Michael Mur- phy, 30, was cited into CJ Muni Court on a charge of driving 50 mph in a 35 zone on Caves Hwy. at Frederick Court. *Crystal Costa, Dyarla Jean Burns and Russell R. Brummett were “trespassed” from Bi-Rite Auto Parts property at almost 8 p.m. *Jubilee Park was pa- trolled at 8:04 p.m. *A single-vehicle crash with injuries was reported at 8:28 p.m. (Details were in the March 18 issue). *Following a complaint about violation of a restrain- ing order on Old Stage Road, a report was pending. Friday, March 13 *From Sterling Savings Bank at 8:14 a.m. came a 911 hang-up call that turned out to be caused by someone trying to get an outside line. *Upon returning home on Thompson Creek Road, a man noticed “that a lot of his belongings are gone.” He thinks they might have been taken by someone who used to live there. *A boy, 15, with two earrings in one ear was re- ported as a runaway juvenile person from Westside Road. *What seemed like a suspicious incident in rural CJ turned out to be a situation where a woman needed help from a care-giver. *Kenneth J. Cook, 25, was cited on Eight Dollar Road under a federal charge of possession of marijuana. He was warned for residing on national forest land. *At Lake Selmac, boater Michael W. Scott, 45, was cited on a charge of not hav- ing enough PFDs (personal flotation devices). *Henry James Hopman, 46, was cited on Eight Dollar Road under a warrant charg- ing FTA on an original charge of negotiating a bad check. He also was federally cited on a charge of driving while suspended (DWS). *Out Reeves Creek Road a man was cited on a charge of offensive littering, and was given until St. Patrick’s Day to vacate the area. *Mark C. Keller, 42, was cited on Redwood Hwy. in Selma on a charge of having an untagged load of firewood. *“Powered by Luck” was said to be the decal in the rear window of a pickup truck reported stolen from Schumacher Street. *At 5:47 p.m. it was re- ported that a man on a CJ parking lot was chasing chil- dren, and that they were screaming and crying. The Your Local 4x4 Headquarters vehicle and all the people were gone when a deputy arrived. *Jubilee Park was checked at 7:26 p.m. *Stacie Lynn Davis, 21, was cited into CJ Muni Court after being stopped in Down- town CJ and cited on charges of failure to obey a traffic control sign, and driving un- insured. *James V. Allen, 52, was cited on a charge of DWS at Redwood Hwy. and Deer Creek Road. *Jubilee Park was checked at 9:25 p.m., and Lorna Byrne Middle School four minutes later. *Suspicious people were reported on Kerby Avenue at 9:43 p.m. *Richard Roy James, date-of-birth unclear, was arrested in Kerby under war- rants charging unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DWS, first-degree burglary, second- degree theft, and two counts of first-degree theft. *David Michael Mier, 18, was arrested in CJ after a Madrona Drive complaint that someone had tried to run over someone else. Mier was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. Saturday, March 14 *“Unknown reason” was listed following an alarm at Sportsman Tavern in Down- town CJ at 26 past midnight. *Because of street people using the interior of the CJ Post Office for camping, the box area was checked at 12:42 a.m. *Today and during other days in this report, several motorists were stopped and warned for equipment infrac- tions and minor traffic viola- tions at various times around Illinois Valley. Also, a num- ber of unoccupied vehicles were noted. *Kyle Lynn Sullivan, 38, was cited at Illinois Rivers Forks State Park for having a dog at large. Others with him were warned about the need for dog licenses. *At 4:09 p.m. someone was worried about a man carrying a chair walking in and out of traffic in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. *Erik Joshua Kovis, 40, was arrested on Reeves Creek Road under a warrant charg- ing FTA on a DUII charge. He also was cited on charges of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, posses- sion of a controlled sub- stance/methamphetamine, switched license plates, and DWS. *The area of Jubilee Park was checked at 6:37 p.m. *After a woman com- plained in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. that a man bit one of her hands, and that she had bruises elsewhere, it was determined that she was the aggressor. She and the man were counseled. *Self-inflicted lacera- tions to his hands were suf- fered by a drunken Kerby man in his mid-20s at the north end of Cave Junction. He was transported by American Medical Response. *Forks Park was pa- Page 7 trolled at 9:51p.m. Sunday, March 15 *The area of O’Brien Country Store was checked at 12 past midnight. *It was noted at 11:47 p.m. that the Stop sign was down at W. River Street and N. Sawyer Avenue. *Ronald J. Bynum, 32, was cited in CJ on a charge of DWS. *Jubilee Park was checked at eight past mid- night; Forks Park was checked at 11:11 p.m., Seats Dam at 11:15, and Lake Sel- mac at 11:26. And those areas were checked during other days at various times. Monday, March 16 *Despite an alarm from the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy., “nothing wrong” was located. *A woman’s grandson was named by her as the sus- pect after $25 and her debit card were missing from her purse. The card was used for purchases of $27 and $29 in CJ. *Five guns were reported missing from a residence on Tycer Crossing. *Michael E. Dowell, 64, was cited on a charge of driv- ing 65 in a 45 mph zone on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby. *Following a complaint from Iron Way, a man was sought for menacing. *Two women were said to be fighting on the south side of CJ at 9:26 p.m. *A “mental subject” was reported in the Takilma area. St. Patrick’s Day *An alarm was logged in the 9000 block of Holland Loop at 9:39 a.m. *Someone reported that her car was “egged” twice at I.V. High School. *A $600 electronic newsstand at the CJ Post Of- fice was removed by punks. *I.V. Veterinary Service in Selma reported a break-in and burglary of narcotics. The overall loss initially was esti- mated at $1,500. *Steven Ray Clardy, 53, was cited near Takilma under a warrant charging FTA on a charge of burglary, after a report that someone took a 30-pack of beer without pay- ing from Shop Smart Food Warehouse. *Following a report of street people fighting outside a CJ store, they said it wasn’t them, and that they had not seen anyone else fighting. *Terri Ann Lee, 41, was cited on a DUII charge in the 3000 block of Holland Loop. *A girl, 14, was reported as a runway juvenile person from N. Junction Avenue. Wednesday, March 18 *A 14-year-old girl re- turned home, it was reported at 9:05 a.m. *A runaway boy, 15, located in Downtown CJ was returned to his mother. She returned less than 30 minutes later to report that he jumped from her car at the first “Stop” sign she came to. *Three street people were warned about trespass- ing at 316 S. Redwood Hwy. Later, one person was warned about trespassing at 216 S. Redwood Hwy. *Some sort of situation involving a Selma man who doesn’t like cops and is armed, and who reportedly sent mercury out of state and caused a problem was logged at 5:40 p.m. *An “out-of-control” juvenile girl was reported as running away from home in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. *There was concern from a man’s sister in rural CJ because she no longer could contact him where he used to work. *J. James Mutina, 57, was cited at the Junction Inn on a charge of FTA on a charge of second-degree criminal mischief after a re- port of a disturbance. *Jeremy Beck was warned about trespassing at 102 S.
