The company was to pay some $73 million in interest fees, due Thursday, Jan. 15, but did not. However, there is a 30-day grace period, after which the company would be in default. Charter Communications has more than $20 billion in debt, noted Moody’s Inves- tors Service. It therefore is predicting bankruptcy unless the debt is restructured. It is currently in the middle of its 2009 season Riparian Tree Planting Project. And while FAC gives seedlings to land owners for free to restore riparian areas, there is a cost incurred for the project that the FAC must raise funds to cover.” FAC added that it also “has plans to bring back the Invasive Weed Control Crew to pull noxious weeds, avoid- ing the use of herbicides.” The evening fund-raising event will feature live music from The Southern Oregon Blues Band. There will be a raffle for items including handcrafted jewelry, a choco- late tower from Harry & David, gift certificates and more. FAC plans to have an evening with lots of food and fun. The Cave Junction City Council is considering an ordinance that would prohibit drinking alcohol on public premises. What do you think of that? “I’m all for banning the pub- lic consumption of alcohol. I think it hurts our community. I want them to stop urinating in public places.” Barbara Klingel “I like that idea. It’s over- due.” Joe Malcolm “You don’t need to be drunk to go to the park and have a good time. That’s what bars are for.” Kimberly Potter “If they’re sitting on a curb drinking, it’s a bad image for the whole town.” Brad Key “I definitely think there needs to be something done. Drink- ing in public is not a good idea. I think there needs to be some law.” Gary Potter Bagel Junction 119 S.
