Tony Haro, LPC (Photo provided) I’m Tony Haro and I’m glad to be a part of the Illinois Valley community of health care. I am an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor and an active member of the Be- havioral Health branch of the Mid Rogue In- dependent Physicians Association. I have 10 years experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents, individuals, adults, couples, and families. I work out of two locations: my home office in Grants Pass and out of the Clear Creek Family Practice Clinic in Selma. I am willing to see clients at either loca- tion. I am trained as a Grief Recovery Special- ist through the Grief Recovery Institute, inte- grated with my own grief/loss experience. Grief Recovery is a 12-week program that takes active steps in reconciling and complet- ing grief/loss. This program is conducted indi- vidually or in a group setting. I also provide counseling services that include working with people coping with anxiety, depression, life transition and/or ad- justment, PTSD, past/present abuse, marital difficulties, parenting issues, and chronic health problems. I believe that strength comes to those who admit they need help. Seeking help is not always easy when trust may have been vio- lated, or when society tells us to be strong and hold it together when the storms of life occur. When we don’t get the help we need, we tend to feel alone in our emotional pain and suffer- ing, thinking and believing that no one under- stands what we are going through. We all need a safe place to uncoil, work through our difficulties, and feel good about ourselves and our relationships with others. I strive to provide such a place where health and healing can take place for our minds, in our bodies, with our emotions, and deep within our soul. Please phone (541) 787-4217 to schedule an appointment. Current hours at Clear Creek Family Practice in Selma are Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most insurance is accepted. Off-road committee seeking one volunteer A volunteer to represent dirt bike (Class III off- highway vehicle) riders is sought by the Oregon Parks & Recreation Dept. (OPRD) for its All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Account Allocation Committee. The committee has seven voting members appointed by the Oregon Parks & Recrea- tion Commission and advises OPRD on the disbursement of state ATV grants. Government agencies and nonprofit organizations use the grants to develop, maintain and acquire ATV riding areas, and for safety education and training. Also, to provide law enforcement. ATV permit sales and a percentage of the unrefunded fuel tax revenue fund the grants. Members serve four-year terms. They usually attend three public meetings per year, and occasionally partici- pate in workshops and tours. Applicants should con- tact Ron Price at (503) 986- 0706 for more information and applications. OPRD will accept applications until 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6. More information about the pro- gram is online at www.oregon.gov/OPRD. A major expansion is under way at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cave Junction Ward building on Junction Ave- nue. Bishop Jack Brown said late last year that the ward is adding a cultural hall, includ- ing a gymnasium, and that it will be made available to the general public by arrange- ment. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church In Mark we read of Jesus telling Simon and Andrew, who were fishing in the Sea of Galilee, “Follow me and I will make you fish for people.” Likewise, in Jonah, God told him to proclaim His message. What is common to these verses is that God calls people of many walks to spread the Good News, which can influ- ence others to follow Him.
