Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Thursday, Oct. 16 *At quarter after 1 a.m. a caller from Gamay Court complained of loud music coming from a neighboring house. The sleeping resident was awakened by a deputy, and the stereo was unplugged. *Theft of an employee’s black, 18-speed mountain bike was reported at Oregon Caves National Monument. *A bald-headed man was reported lying on the side of the road in the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 4:17 p.m. *A man suspected of attempted theft was appre- hended by store employees and handcuffed after trying to fight with managers at Shop Smart Food Warehouse at 5 p.m. OSP responded. *Although domestic vio- lence was suspected and a gunshot reported by neighbors, deputies found only a loud birthday party at a Hanby Lane residence. The source of the explosive sound remained undetermined. *A horse was reported running loose on Laurel Road near Rail Lane at 5:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 *A number of apparently intoxicated persons were said to be yelling at each other and harassing people in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street at 7 p.m. *Jennifer Marie Joy, 33, was cited on a charge of pro- bation violation when found at a residence in the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy. where she is not permitted. *“Loud music” from an establishment in Downtown Cave Junction was com- plained about at 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 *Contacted at Chetco Pass at the top of Rancherio Road, Cameron Lex Smith, 34, was cited on a charge of operating an ATV with a loaded firearm; and Larry Lynn Smith, 64, was cited on something too. *People responsible for an illegal open burn on Hogue Drive were said to be hostile and refusing to coop- erate with firefighters. A dep- uty was requested. The occu- pants were advised of burning laws, and they were cited. *James Carr Neil, 52, was cited on charges of driv- ing with a suspended license and defective lighting in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 3:08 p.m. *Some sort of landlord/ tenant dispute was reported on S. Old Stage Road. The parties were provided op- tions. *It was reported that a woman was giving birth in a bathtub at a residence on Caves Avenue, but she could not be located. *A report of shots fired some 4 miles up Leuzinger Creek Road was received at 5:34 p.m. *A Cave Junction resi- dent thought he might be in possession of stolen property, and had possible information about a burglar. *Neil Francis White, 57, was cited on a charge of sec- ond-degree criminal trespass- ing at 8 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. *A cyclist near Illinois River Forks State Park was warned for improper lighting at 8:33 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 *A “physical altercation” was said to have occurred between patrons at a Cave Junction business at 1:50 a.m. *Two girls, ages 13 and 14, were warned regarding curfew in Downtown Cave Junction at 2:41 a.m. *Persons illegally hunt- ing from their vehicle on Dick George Road were re- ported at 10:12 a.m. *Christian David Yost, 35, was cited on a charge of discharging a firearm from the roadway in the 8500 block of Illinois River Road at 12:27 p.m. *An 8-year-old child on W. Palmer Street was warned about playing with a tele- phone following a 911 call. *Contacted at Illinois Valley High School at 8:16 p.m., a 53-year-old man, who had been heard yelling, was warned to stay off school property. *Following a traffic stop on Redwood Hwy. at mile- post 34, Jason Robert Patton, 38, was warned for speeding, open container, and failure to for your help with the I.V. Sandoval, 33, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant on Redwood Hwy. at Eight Dol- lar Mountain Road at 11:35 p.m. He was warned regard- ing impeding traffic and fail- ure to maintain a lane of travel. And his vehicle was impounded. Tuesday, Oct. 21 *On Gamay Court a resi- dent said that someone pulled out numerous plants from in front of her house and threw them in the street. And it’s happened previously, she said. *An Illinois Valley resi- dent reported that someone had used her checking ac- count information to purchase pornography online, and that they also may have obtained a credit card. Wednesday, Oct. 22 *Theft of two wallets and cash from a residence on Hol- land Loop was reported at 9:03 a.m. *A Cave Junction woman complained that her ex-husband had a vehicle towed from her residence without permission. It was termed a civil matter. *Rita Carroll Bennett, 43, was cited on a warrant charging second-degree criminal mischief in Down- town CJ at 12:09 p.m. *Cameron Roger Dailey, 39, was arrested in Down- town CJ on a warrant charg- ing probation violation/ unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was lodged in Josephine County Jail. *Two young men were warned for riding bicycles on the sidewalk on N. Redwood Hwy. in Downtown Cave Junction at 12:23 p.m. *Two people were warned about not leashing their dog and occupying a public right-of-way on W. Watkins Street at 12:48 p.m. *Four people contacted at Jubilee Park were warned regarding the leash law and other city ordinances. *Beverly L. Blakely, 61, was cited on a charge of PCS (less than an ounce of mari- juana) at Illinois River Forks State Park at 1:37 p.m. *While working in her yard, a caller said, a tall, thin man in a bright blue sedan pulled up. The man got out, looked around, and when he saw her, got back in his car and sped away. *On Fernwood Drive, Jerome Bradley Fletcher, 32, was arrested on a state parole and probation warrant, and a Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety warrant charging con- tempt of court. He was lodged in Josephine County Jail. And Crystal Leann Robinson, 26, was cited on a charge of hin- dering prosecution. *In Josephine County Circuit Court, O’Brien resi- dent James L. Sumner, 44, entered a “Guilty” plea on a charge of arson. It is in con- nection with a 69-acre wild- fire out Kerby Mainline on July 19.
