GP fire suspects up to 10
The arrest of three more
juvenile boys in connection
with a series of “suspicious
fires” has brought the total
arrested to 10, said Grants
Pass Dept. of Public Safety
(GPDPS).
Arrested on Tuesday,
Sept. 23 were Sean Kenneth
Kemper; and Benjamin Jesse
Havens, both 15, and Grants
Pass residents. They each
were charged with manufac-
ture of a destructive device,
possession of a destructive
device, and reckless burning,
Health-care debate set in Medford
Oregon Health Forum
will host a health-care debate
between Sen. Alan Bates (D-
Ashland) and Rep. Ron
Maurer (R-Grants Pass) on
Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Med-
ford Red Lion Inn from 11:30

On Monday, Sept. 29,
GP officers arrested Johnny
Walter Amaral, 13. He was
charged with possession of a
destructive device and reck-
less burning.
With the arrests, said
Zeliff, “This brings the total
number of arrests to 10 with
33 fires solved, of which 13
were unreported.” She said
that officers are continuing
their investigation to find
additional suspects.
