Jackson and Joshua Patton were married on Saturday evening, July 19, 2008 in a semifor- mal ceremony at Cherie’s River Rendezvous in Grants Pass with Pastor Denny Stahl of Calvary Chapel in Grants Pass officiating. The double-ring ceremony took place on the edge of Apple- gate River at sunset with many twinkle lights so that the site looked like a magical garden for a princess. The wedding party consisted of the matron of honor, Mrs. Jennifer Cunningham, from Cave Junction, best friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Drevenstedt, Kelsey Arnett, Sa- brina Miller and Shannon O’Grady, all from Cave Junction, and all friends and former classmates of the bride. Flower girls were Koniah Cunningham, 2, of Cave Junction, and Lisa Wylie, 6, niece of the bridegroom, of Kerby. Michael Jobe was the best man. He is a lifetime family-and- school friend of the bridegroom, from Cave Junction. Groomsmen were the bridegroom’s nephews, Alex Brant and Kris Brant from Nebraska; Edward Cunningham of Cave Junc- tion, close friend of the bridegroom; and Anthony Melendez, a friend of the couple. Ring bearer and nephew of the bridegroom was Skylar Wylie, 4, of Kerby. The wedding was followed by a reception at Cherie’s. The honeymoon was a 16-day trip to the Running Y Ranch in Klamath Falls, with trips to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. The newlyweds returned to Cave Junction via the Oregon coast. Pamela “PJ” Kennedy, Marvin Jackson, and Gordon Kennedy, the bride’s parents, are from Cave Junction. Honored guests were Glenn & Ardith Graham, the bride’s grandparents. They are former residents of Humboldt County for 40 years before they retired and relocated to Cave Junction. The bridegroom’s sister, Angel Brant, and her husband, Scott, and their children, Makayla, Alex and Kris, flew from Ne- braska. The bride’s great-aunt Kathy and Uncle John Melvin drove from Klamath, Calif. Her Grandma Ardith and Papa Glenn Graham from Cave Junction also attended. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Illinois Valley High School, and is attending Rogue Community College in Grants Pass. She is a home-care worker for the state of Oregon. The bridegroom’s parents are Dave & Billie Patton, also from Cave Junction. The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Illinois Valley High School. He has a bachelor of arts degree in celestial science from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from UC Berkeley. He is self-employed, doing land and tree-clearing and yard maintenance. Beta amy- loid is a component of “plaques,” which are seen in the brain tissue of patients with Alzheimer’s. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City OK 73123. Mrs. Piller was born on June 18, 1914 in Minneapolis, Minn. As a young child, she moved with her family to Ore- gon’s Willamette Valley. In 2007 she moved from Cave Junction to Medford. Surviving are two sons, Michael Piller, of Sun Valley, Idaho, and Anthony Piller, of Los Angeles; a daughter, Sharon Bartick, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey Piller. Subjects who partici- pated received an intravenous infusion of Bapineuzumab once every three months dur- ing the 18-month Phase 2 clinical trials. Each dose was followed with an MRI scan. Alzheimer’s subjects who lack the APOE4 gene re- ceived the greatest benefit from the drug. The Phase 2 clinical trial was conducted at OHSU and 29 other sites around the na- tion with support from Elan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Wyeth. More than 2,000 sub- jects nationwide will partici- pate in Phase 3 trials. OHSU is ready to enroll subjects in Phase 3 trials. The trial is open to persons with mild or moderate Alz- heimer's, Quinn said. Partici- pation is fairly demanding, and participants will be re- quired to make several visits to OHSU. People interested in par- ticipating in Phase 3 trials should phone the study coor- dinator at (503) 494-9399. Community Christian Academy, est. 1974 Community Bible Church 113 S.
