Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Friday, Aug. 17 *Because he had not yet left private property, a 60- year-old man in Kerby was not charged with driving under the influence of in- toxicants or any other crime after he wrecked the motor- cycle he was trying to drive at 1:30 a.m. It landed on top of him, and it appeared he’d damaged an ankle, but he refused medical treatment. *A piece of unidentified fruit was thrown through a window at a home on W. Lister Street, causing a re- ported $100 damage. *Robert B. Watkins, 23, was cited on charges of driving with a suspended license (DWS) and lack of insurance. *Presenting a phony Social Security card, a woman attempted to obtain an Oregon ID card, reported a DMV employee at the Cave Junction office. *Two men were loiter- ing near a Selma business and were drinking beer, a man reported. He noted that this happens every day. *Carpeting was cut out and appliances taken from a vacant home on Cabernet Drive, a contractor’s super- intendent reported. *Clifford Jerone Tucker, 33, was cited on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle (UUV), and a red Dodge pickup truck was recovered from his posses- sion. Saturday, Aug. 18 *His sister’s boyfriend was intoxicated and arguing with everyone, said a Caves Hwy. resident, who wanted the offending party removed at 12:27 a.m. After the situa- tion “resolved itself,” the caller was advised of civil options for eviction proceed- ings. *Patrol time was spent at various camps along Illi- nois River on Eight Dollar Mountain Road. Sunday, Aug. 19 *Twenty minutes after midnight a caller com- plained about a loud party which had been going on all day on Dogwood Lane. *Someone in the Hol- land community has a cell phone which dialed 911 several times. The call-taker could hear music at times, but the exact location of the phone could not be fixed. *A public telephone on Lakeshore Drive was the source of a 911 hang-up call at 7:15 a.m. *A Cave Junction mother reported that her 8- year-old son was “out of control,” yelling and throw- ing things at her at 7:18 p.m. *In the 700 block of Caves Hwy. a former tenant was picking peaches and plums from the property without permission, the cur- rent resident said. The caller was told that the landlord needed to make a complaint. *Despite a heavy chain and padlocks, an irrigation pump was taken from an Aquarius Way address, the owner reported. Phone 592-2252 or 287-0290 bers were said to be fighting about a lawsuit at 9 a.m. *On Dick George Road a former tenant had returned to retrieve property, and another tenant was having a problem with that. The mat- ter was resolved civilly. *Joann Marie Rhodes (AKA Joann Marie Yurk- ovich), 39, was lodged in Josephine County Jail; and cited on warrants charging failure to appear on charges including second-degree burglary and theft, and UUV. *Eight small window panes were broken out at a business on Caves Hwy., a tenant reported. *A Schumacher Street resident complained that his neighbor was smoking mari- juana, which was entering his dwelling. Information was referred to the landlord and Josephine Interagency Narcotics Team (JOINT). Tuesday, Aug. 21 *A speeding car, two gunshots and a man’s yell- ing voice could be heard on School Street in Kerby at 12:45 a.m. *A black-and-gray Nis- san Pathfinder reported sto- len overnight from a Cave Junction address was recov- ered on Westside Road. *Two portable shop lights were reported taken from a construction site on N. Redwood Hwy. *In the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive a man re- ported that his wife hit him and wouldn’t allow him to leave. She could be heard yelling, “I did not!” He de- clined to pursue harassment charges and left. *After a 4-year-old on Hays Cut Off phoned 911, her sister, 15, explained that everything was “fine.” *Thieves gained entry to a van parked in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street and removed a toolbox and prescription medications, a caller reported. *A woman said that her son was being harassed by men in a red Jeep who threatened to beat him. *A Selma man said that he’d been informed by law enforcement in San Bernar- dino, Calif. that his ID had been used to purchase a ve- hicle. A suspect was in cus- tody, but a report from the victim’s agency was needed. *On Rockydale Road, a vehicle had been driven into a tree, but the elderly driver was said to be uninjured. *A pack of children threw dirt clods into her swimming pool, complained a woman on Shadowbrook Drive. She said she has pho- tographs of the culprits. *A good deal of yelling and cursing was coming from a vehicle one driveway away from a caller on Caves Hwy. at 10:30 p.m. *Two vehicles were said to be speed racing and also “doing doughnuts” at Page 15 10:40 in Kerby. *A vehicle with a spot light pulled onto his drive- way, a Caves Hwy. resident said.
