Tuesday, July 3
*Lodged in Josephine
County Jail after a trip to
Three Rivers Community
Hospital (TRCH) for a
blood draw was Robert Lee
Crow, 36. He was cited on
charges of driving under the
influence of an intoxicant)
(DUII), reckless driving,
driving with a revoked li-
cense, and as a felon in pos-
session of a firearm. Also he
was cited for refusing a
breath test, driving unin-
sured and violation of open
container laws. And he was
cited on warrants charging
failure to appear (FTA) on
charges including menacing
and endangering the welfare
of a child.
*A vehicle that had
been driven by Robert Lee
Crow was impounded from
where he’d been contacted
at 12:55 a.m. on Caves
Hwy.
*Argumentative and
uncooperative, a man on
Beebe Drive off Althouse
Creek Road, said that if
deputies didn’t do some-
thing about his ex-wife’s
boyfriend, who was threat-
ening him, he’d “probably
slice him up.”
*Thought to be having
some sort of medical prob-
lem, a woman initially was
brought to the Illinois Val-
ley Substation, but soon
decamped to a nearby bar.
Described as hysterical and
intoxicated, Debra Parsons,
47, was cited on charges of
harassment and disorderly
conduct, and lodged in
county jail.
*An Ollis Road resident
claimed that a relative used
her name without permis-
sion to order some $1,100
worth of merchandise
*At Lake Selmac, a man
was said to be admiring
young girls in a way that
seemed suspicious. While
she was not present, a
mother said, he’d ap-
proached her family and
asked to take a 4-year-old for
a ride in his red van.
*Gunshots were heard
on Crooks Creek Road at
8:30 p.m., but those con-
tacted didn’t know where
they’d come from.
Wednesday, July 4
*Apparently not much
happened today.
Thursday, July 5
*Around 2 a.m. a man
on Lone Mountain Road
claimed to have been lured
from his residence and as-
saulted with a rifle butt. A
deputy is said to have
checked the area thoroughly
and found no one.
*On Reeves Creek
Road a man said that some-
one had cut through a
locked gate and gone four-
wheeling. Indications were
that the driver became high-
centered turning through a
ditch, and might have dam-
aged his vehicle.
*A dog on Waldo Road
may have escaped injury,
but the motorcycle rider
who avoided striking it just
before 8 p.m. was taken to
TRCH.
*Raymond Edward Ste-
vens, 45, was lodged in
county jail on a probation
violation charge.
Friday, July 6
*A man was found ly-
ing on Takilma Road in the
5000 block at 7:51 a.m. He
was warned to not do that.
*His wife’s son hacked
into their computer, and
then attempted to blackmail
them with information from
there, a valley resident re-
ported.
*Robin Elizabeth
Sliger, 47, was arrested on
warrants charging FTA on a
charge of disorderly conduct
and probation violation after
her son reported from the
I.V. Substation that she was
beyond his control.
*No description was
available for three passen-
gers in a white Jeep, which
was “spinning out and
throwing gravel” on a dirt
lot in Kerby, a woman said.
Her car was damaged, and
when confronted with this
news, the bald, shirtless
driver of the Jeep reportedly
shrugged it off with a
“You’ll live” comment.
*Loud music and gun-
shots were emanating from
an intoxicated bash on
Sherier Road, neighbors
complained at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 7
*Just after midnight, S.
Old Stage Road residents
reported that a couple had
been involved in a verbal
dispute for more than an
hour. No crime was evident,
and the parties separated.
*A driver with flashing
blue lights on his car mirror
was warned that it made his
car look like a law enforce-
ment vehicle.
*Two vehicles were
found on the parking lot at
Jubilee Park at 1:09 a.m.
One belonged to a woman
who was providing light for
another who was repairing a
car which needed to be
moved.
*Numerous documents
and a cellular telephone
were seized to identify the
driver of a vehicle involved
in a minor crash on Finch
Road after he and his female
passenger fled. A third per-
son, Matthew G. Elling-
wood, 18, was cited on a
charge of minor in posses-
sion of alcohol (MIP) and
transported home. Some $75
damage to landscaping oc-
curred, and a report was
made for attempting to
elude, MIP, and failure to
perform the duties of a
driver.
*During a confrontation
with his wife at a CJ busi-
ness, she slammed an empty
car seat against a vehicle
belonging to someone else,
damaging it, a man said.
*Chad M. Shinerock,
23, was cited on a charge of
offensive littering on Kerby
Mainline Road at 12:51 p.m.
*Claiming that he had a
“right to be there,” a teen-
aged boy was harassing cus-
tomers at a valley store.
Forced to leave, he said he
was “going to get his dad.”
*Advised to phone if
the trespasser returned, an
employee at a valley store
said at 1 p.m. that the kid
refused to leave.
Sunday, July 8
*Three teen-agers with
bicycles were seen on the
roof at Evergreen Elemen-
tary School at 2:30 a.m.
*Some eight to 10 per-
sons were thought by a
caller to be fighting at a
Selma business at 4 p.m.,
but no one seemed to know
anything about it.
*Angry that she was
“running (his) house,” a
man in Kerby grabbed his
18-year-old daughter by the
neck and hit her with a fly
swatter. Both were warned
about their conduct.
Monday, July 9
*Suspect information in
a case of theft was provided

by a man who recovered his
stolen ring at a pawn shop.
*On S. Old Stage Road,
a 56-year-old man was said
to be trying to set himself on
fire. Though found not to be
a danger to himself or oth-
ers, Richard Abe Linville,
55, was arrested on a war-
rant charging FTA on an
original charge of driving
with a suspended license.
*Phoning to report the
fourth burglary to his resi-
dence in recent memory, a
Terrace Heights Drive resi-
dent said he believes the
same person is responsible
in each instance.
Tuesday, July 10
*Two of four boys
caught in Downtown CJ at
1:23 a.m. were warned about
disorderly conduct, at-
tempted criminal mischief,
offensive littering and cur-
few. They were turned over
to a parent. The other two
boys fled.
*A noisy generator or
other machine in the 5000
block of Westside Road was
bothersome at 1:57 a.m.
*Charges of first-degree
arson were referred to the
county D.A. following a
suspicious fire on Crooks
Creek Road.
*Contacted on Illinois
River Road with a bed full
of firewood (the bed of a
pickup truck), a man was
cited on a charge of violat-
ing terms and conditions of
a firewood permit.
*Michael Ryan Quig-
ley, 16, was cited for operat-
ing an ATV on a roadway at
Six Mile Campground.
*A green SUV with the
keys locked inside was re-
ported stolen from Ray’s
Food Place parking lot
sometime today.
*Following an altercation
with two men at Illinois River
“Forks” State Park, a man
said that one of them hit him
in the nose, and then they
stole his gun. The complain-
ant, who seemed to think that
law enforcement did not care
about him, stated he would
have to “go and blow (those
responsible) away.”
Wednesday, July 11 .
*Some nut in a black
pickup truck was “doing
360s and swerving all over
the roadway” while driving
“90 to 100 mph” in the Old
Stage Road and Hanby Lane
area, it was reported at 10
past midnight. The vehicle
then was driven at “85 mph”
through Downtown CJ and
then onto Rockydale Road.
*Punk thugs broke into
the home of a deceased
woman on S. Kerby Avenue
and removed items, besides
causing damage in a case of
first-degree burglary and
second-degree criminal mis-
chief.
*For some reason, an
audible alarm was triggered
at I.V. Senior Center three
times around 9 a.m.
*On Happy Camp Road
a state Dept. of Human Ser-
vices worker was aided by a
deputy in connection with
someone going to a hospital.
*The morning after
hearing loud banging on S.
Junction Avenue, a woman
found that her mailbox had
been smashed.
*Two “highly intoxi-
cated” women on June
Drive were reported yelling
and cussing at 11:33 p.m.
Each said that the other hit
her. They were asleep when
a deputy arrived.
Fish arrested
in knife case
at GP lounge
One day after his 25th
birthday, Grants Pass resi-
dent Anthony James Fish
was arrested in connection
with a man being stabbed at
a bar on Rogue River Hwy.
Fish, said Grants Pass
Dept. of Public Safety
(GPDPS), was charged with
first-degree assault, two
counts of menacing, and
parole violation.
His stepfather, Mark
Anthony Brown, 36, was
cited and released on charge
of being a felon in posses-
sion of a firearm. He lives at
the same address as Fish on
Manzanita Avenue.
The victim at Outback
Lounge was identified as
Merlin resident Aaron Dean
Cummings, 31. He suffered
lacerations to his chin, neck
and chest, said GPDPS. He
was treated and released at
Three Rivers Community
Hospital.
