Illinois Valley News, Cave Junction, OR Wednesday, May 24, 2006 A million miles of memories for school bus driver Emotion ran high on Fri- day, May 19, as fellow school bus drivers held a surprise retirement party for O’Brien resident Gin- ger Caudill, who drove 28 years -- accident-free -- for Laidlaw Transit Inc. Co-workers gathered at the bus barn on W. River Street with a cake, gifts, hugs, applause and many congratulations. “I will miss ‘my kids,’ said Caudill. “Watching them grow has been a real eye-opener,” she said, “and it’s been difficult at times, when their dreams don’t come true. I will miss them, and my ‘family’ of bus drivers.” Caudill figures that she’s rolled up a million miles as a driver and trainer. Her boss called her “a heck of an asset” who will be missed. Illinois River Valley Arts Council (IRVAC) The Learning Through Art (LTA) Committee worked with teachers to create a Medieval Fair for the entire sixth-grade class at Lorna Byrne Middle School.
