The front of the motorcycle

Hanlin outreach director for Greg Walden
Congressman Greg
Walden (R-Ore.) announced
that Grants Pass resident
Dick Hanlin has joined his
Medford office to work as
director of Community Out-
reach and Assistance for
Walden’s congressional
district of 20 counties in
central, southern and eastern
Oregon.
Hanlin joins Walden’s
staff after serving as the ex-
ecutive director for Boys &
Girls Clubs in Anchorage,
Portland, and most recently,
the Rogue Valley.
“I place a high priority
on having Oregonians work-
ing in my offices who un-
derstand the needs of resi-
dents in the district and ap-
preciate the unique way of
life in the central, southern
and eastern parts of our
state,” said Walden.
“Dick’s experience
working with local commu-
nities, organizations and
individuals will be a tremen-
dous asset to me, as well as
folks throughout the district,
and I known he’ll do a terri-
fic job helping me serve the
Second District.”
Since 1985, Hanlin has
worked for the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Greater Anchor-
age, Alaska, the Portland
Metropolitan Area, and in
the Rogue Valley. For the
latter he brought clubs in
Jackson and Josephine
counties together under an
umbrella organization to
enhance efficiency and indi-
vidual club operations to
help serve 5,000 youngsters
and teen-agers each year in
the region.
Hanlin also served as
chairman of the Oregon
State Association of Boys &
Girls Clubs from 2005 to
2006.
Hanlin’s primary focus
will be on outreach to local
communities throughout the
20 counties in Walden’s
district including helping
communities identify ways
Walden or the federal gov-
ernment might be able to
assist them with local issues.
