A family graveside ser-
vice will be held at Deer
Creek Cemetery in Selma
for Nellie Mary Holloway,
89, of Selma, who died June
30, 2005 at St. Helena Hos-
pital in St. Helena, Calif.
Mrs. Holloway was
born Aug. 31, 1951 in Na-
tional City, Calif. On March
14, 1936 she married Robert
L. Holloway. They came to
Selma in 1956. Mr. Hollo-
way died in 1999.
As a young woman,
Mrs. Holloway played bass
viol in the San Diego Sym-
phony. However, for most
of her life she was a home-
maker.
She taught Sunday
school in San Diego for 10
years. In Selma she taught
for another 10 years at
Selma Baptist Church,
where she also helped with
Bible Release Time instruc-
tion, and the Missionary
Society.
She enjoyed salmon
fishing, camping, flower-
growing and arranging, and
playing piano. She also en-
joyed singing in the church
choir, baking pies, and read-
ing the Bible.
Surviving are three
daughters, Catherine M.
Cooper, of Weimer, Calif.,
Barbara Ann Stepp, of Fre-
mont, Calif., and Mary L.
Mann, of Fairfield, Calif.;
eight grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions
can be made to St. Helena
Hospital, P.O. Box 250,
Deer Park CA 94576.
