Thursday, June 16
*In Kerby a depressed
resident was taken for medical
care under a peace officer’s
mental hold.
*A woman who couldn’t
find her wallet on June 11 said
that she found it.
*At 11:18 p.m. a vehicle
“all over the roadway” was
reported near milepost 24 of
Hwy. 199.
Monday, June 13
*The possibility of bur-
glars in the 900 block of Deer
Creek Road didn’t seem to pan
out at 12:15 a.m.
*In Selma a boy was ar-
rested as a runaway person.
*In Kerby a man “was
fighting with everyone,” and
then ran off at 12:26 a.m.
*Aaron Anawalt, 45, was
cited on a charge of driving 81
mph in a 45 zone at 1:01 a.m.
at Hwy. 199 and Lakeshore
Drive.
*Although a screaming
woman was heard on Ollis
Road at 1:35 a.m., no problem
was located.
*Chad Mitchell Shin-
erock, 21, was cited and re-
leased on a charge of driving
under the influence of intoxi-
cants (DUII) at 2:01 a.m. on a
CJ parking lot. His vehicle was
impounded.
*Theft of a $150 cat was
reported in the 1000 block of
Lakeshore Drive.
*In the 1000 block of
Rockydale Road, a resident
said that a man became upset
after being told to leave, and
damaged a gate.
*Spilled diesel fuel at
Hwy. 199 and River Street was
cleaned up by the city of CJ
Public Works Dept.
*Fraud involving counter-
feit $1 bills was reported at a
CJ tavern, and the complainant
said the same thing happened
at two other CJ bars.
*On Kerby Street a man
resting “picked a bad place to
do it” at 3:05 p.m.
*A parent of three chil-
dren on Raymond Street was
advised of bicycle helmet laws
after a complaint.
*Approximately $20
worth of gasoline was taken
from a vehicle on Norman
Road, a man said.
*After his son was violent
with his wife, tried to break
into their house, drove a vehi-
cle through a fence, and dam-
aged it by smashing windows
and breaking off windshield
wipers, the father didn’t want
to press charges, and it was
termed a civil matter on
Rockydale Road.
*No crime was detected
on Hogue Drive after a report
of domestic violence.
*Some fool dialed 911
from a CJ public telephone,
and then slithered away at 8:30
p.m.
*On Hogue Drive a
woman said that a man was
trying to control her children,
and that she doesn’t want him
around.
*“Unknown reason” was
listed after a 911 hang-up call
from Dogwood Lane.
Wednesday, June 15
*Extra patrol was re-
quested on Hogue Drive due to
“off-roaders” in the area.
*Use of “jake brakes” by
log trucks was complained
about in the 1000 block of
Lakeshore Drive.
*Although a woman felt
that her child had been injured
while in the care of another, it
was determined at a hospital to
be a bacterial infection.
*Community Oriented
Policing (COP) was logged on
Ollis Road.
*“Heavy-caliber” shooting
that occurs regularly, according
to a complainant, was reported
in the 7000 block of Hwy. 46
at 9:46 p.m.
*Despite two “hits” on an
alarm at a CJ business at 11:07
p.m., the responsible person
said deputies could be called
off for the time being.
Thursday, June 16
*Criminal mischief re-
sulted in an apparent attempted
burglary at a business in the
28000 block of Hwy. 199.
*Theft of a puppy was
reported on Caves Avenue.
*Theft of a rental trailer
was reported in Downtown CJ.
*Extra patrol was re-
quested because people keep
visiting a house on Old Stage
Road that was busted as a meth
lab, an anonymous man said.
*Suspicious people with a
bucket were evasive when
questioned at Waldo and
Rockydale roads.
*Aaron Baker, 16, suf-
fered an abdominal wound
caused by an accidental knife
injury after he and another
person were “rough-housing”
in the 25000 block of Red-
wood Hwy.
*COP was conducted at
Illinois River “Forks” State
Park at 8:06 p.m.
*Two people in a car were
warned about trespassing at the
west end of Watkins Street.
Friday, June 17
*After water was left run-
ning almost all night in a rented
valley room, drug abuse was
suspected.
*A welfare check in
O’Brien was conducted be-
cause of a complaint that chil-
dren might be left alone.
*“Dopers” caused a traffic
problem on Boundry Lane.
*Clothing and a check-
book with a total value of $100
were reported stolen from an
unlocked vehicle at E. River
Street and Shadowbrook Drive.
*In the 38000 block of
Hwy. 199 a roll of fencing
figured in a continuing dispute
over an easement.
*The possibility of a
prowler near Holiday Motel
was reported at 9:44 a.m.
*A new employee set off
an alarm at a CJ bank.
*Assistance was provided
a Dept. of Health & Safety
employee on Lister Street.
*No injuries were reported
in a two-vehicle crash at Old
Stage Road and E. River Street
at 3:12 p.m.
*As part of a continuing
landlord-tenant dispute in the
33000 block of Hwy. 199, the
tenant claimed that the landlord
chased him with a vehicle.
*Attempted theft of gaso-
line from a vehicle was re-
ported on Schumacher Street.
*On Ollis Road an RV left
without permission could be
towed at the complainant’s
expense, he was advised.
*Four counterfeit dollar
bills were reported passed at a
CJ business.
*Several abandoned vehi-
cles were located in and around
the Illinois River, Eight Dollar
and Lone Mt. roads areas.
Some litter also was noted.
*Because he keeps com-
ing over and won’t leave a
family alone, a man was
“trespassed” on Raymond
Street.
*No injuries were reported
in a two-vehicle collision on
Hwy. 199 near Lakeshore
Drive at 9:13 p.m.
*A cat was blamed for
setting off an alarm in the 6000
block of Holland Loop.
Friday, June 17
*There was another alarm
on Holland Loop, but it was
not determined if the cat from
an earlier alarm was responsi-
ble.
*A “highly intoxicated”
father on Hussey Avenue said
at 12:54 a.m. that his son was
out of control. Then they called
it a night.
*Sam Miguel Taylor, 37,
was arrested at 1:09 a.m. at
Hussey Avenue and Millie
Street on charges of DUII, and
second-degree possession of a
controlled substance/
methamphetamine; and cited
on a charge of first-degree
driving while suspended
(DWS), driving without insur-
ance, and failure to signal a
turn. He also was arrested un-
der a warrant charging sale and
possession of fireworks. And
his vehicle was impounded.
*Theft of a paid-for vehi-
cle with almost no fuel was
reported on W. Palmer Street at
4:59 a.m.
*A property line dispute
continued in the 38000 block
of Hwy. 199.
*After someone claimed
that trees worth $90,000 were
removed without permission
on Lakeshore Drive, the com-
plaint was termed unfounded.
*No injuries were reported
in a two-vehicle crash at 1:53
p.m. at O’Brien Country Store.
*A woman on Fredrick
court complained that someone
entered a shed and let out a cat,
which was knocking over
things while the woman was
trying to sleep.
*Some woman keeps
phoning and harassing him, a
Lakeshore Drive man said.
*An unknown person (for
now) passed a counterfeit $1
bill at a CJ business.
*Elaine Ann Gregg, 48,
was cited on a charge of fourth-
degree DWS on E. River
Street.
Sunday, June 19
*Theft from a motor vehi-
cle involving $1,500 worth of
tools was reported in O’Brien
in the 33000 block of Hwy.
199.
*Christopher L. Sheets,
27, was cited on Hwy. 46 on
charges of furnishing alcohol to
a minor, and false swearing.
*Theft of a $5,000 genera-
tor from a motor home was
reported in the 33000 block of
Hwy. 199 in O’Brien.
*A disturbance on June
Drive was found to be civil in
nature, in terms of the law.
*After a resident of Patton
Bar Road laid on the floor and
wouldn’t get up, she was taken
to a hospital for evaluation.
*At the north end of CJ,
Jeremy Justin Beck, 25, was
cited under a warrant charging
failure to comply with terms of
probation in connection with a
charge of third-degree theft.
*A vehicle reported stolen
from W. Palmer Street was
found on a church parking lot.
*No injuries were reported
after a pickup truck rolled
down an embankment approxi-
mately 75 feet in the 4000
block of Illinois River Road.
*The possibility of a dis-
turbance in the area of Lister
Street and Kerby Avenue was
pondered at 9:17 p.m.
*Someone might have
thrown a lighted firecracker at
another vehicle near I.V. High
School at 9:45 p.m.
Monday, June 20
*“Employee error” caused
an alarm at a CJ business at
4:12 a.m.
*Burglary was suspected
at The Original Cut Co. in CJ
after a man saw someone in-
side at 5:15 a.m.
*In the 33000 block of
Hwy. 199 a man complained
that someone cut down his
plants, valued at $200, and told
him that he was going to dig a
ditch in front of the complain-
ant’s property and fill it with
rocks and oil.
*Theft of a pickup truck
from Addison Lane off Old
Stage Road was logged.
*After driving rapidly
through an O’Brien parking lot
and throwing up gravel, a man
was warned.
*At the north end of CJ, a
woman reported that a man had
assaulted her, and that another
man had raped her. Rape was
found to be unfounded, as was
the assault charge.
*Burglary to a motor
home while a man was in jail
was reported in the 27000
block of Hwy. 199.
*People in the 37000
block of Hwy. 199 had a situa-
tion with logging and whether
it was done with permission.
There was a note that one man
had fired a gun 30 times, but it
was unknown if he just fired in
the air or what.
*A case of harassment on
Warren Road was reported.
One person said that another
threatened to choke them.
*There was an eviction
problem on Warren Road.
*Two men were fighting
at a Selma business. They
weren’t located afterward.
*A vehicle reported stolen
from Grants Pass was found at
vicinity of 5 p.m.
*Driving a pickup truck
stolen from a Deer Creek Road
resident, Jason R. Bayard, 28,
rammed a deputy’s vehicle in
Cave Junction and another
pickup truck on Redwood
Hwy. near O’Brien. The man,
allegedly on medication for a
mental disorder, was eventu-
ally apprehended by CHP,
which employed helicopter air-
support and spike strips to stop
the vehicle 16 miles south of
the California/Oregon border.
A report was to follow for
charges of felony pursuit, un-
authorized use of a vehicle
(UUV) and first-degree at-
tempted assault.
Waldo and Rockydale roads.
*From Selma came a re-
port that a mother had as-
saulted her daughter.
Saturday, June 21
*Although a woman in the
19000 block of Redwood Hwy.
said that her brother came to
her home and threatened to kill
her, the situation was not
deemed criminal.
*Two men on Warren
Road, who had been harassing
one another, were told to stay
away from each other around
noon.
*A neighbor with a stick
was standing by to break up a
domestic disturbance on Ollis
Road, it was reported in the
