Page 4 Illinois Valley News, Cave Junction, OR Wednesday, June 1, 2005 COUGAR ELDERLY PROJECT - Because Illinois Valley High School is an Expedition- ary School, honors English and seventh period English II students of Patty Dickens- Turk have been working on an in-depth in- vestigation into understanding the elderly and senior citizens. The students, all sophomores, visited Royale Gardens Reha- bilitation Center in Grants Pass this month and helped set up a horserace game. They also visited Illinois Valley Senior Center and conducted interviews. They plan to write life stories of those with whom they spoke. As another part of their work the students researched a variety of subjects that affect the elderly, from Medicare to Alz- heimer’s disease, and developed display boards. For their final activity the students conducted a ‘Rock-a-Thon’ Thursday, May 26 at IVHS to raise money for the I.V. Senior Center Building Expansion Fund. 592-3667 Mom, Dad & Matt 111 N Redwood Hwy Tax Planning - Tax Preparation - Mutual Funds - IRAs Ted Crocker, Registered Representative Securities offered through H.D.
